Author's Note: Sorry for the short chapter, it's because I haven't gotten any reviews and I'm not sure if there's any point in continuing it if no one is reading it. So this fanfic is of now being put on hold for a while until a review is received. Thanks!

Disclaimer: I don't own anything; it all belongs to W.B and etc.

Chapter 1:

"Mother, I want to be in a band," Lane declared, headstrong and strong-willed.

"And there is not one thing you can do about it!"

Rory watched from her spot perched on Lane's bed. "That was good," She remarked. "Maybe a little less spirit and a more humble approach," Rory suggested.

Lane's shoulders slumped. "Who am I trying to kid?" She complained. "My mother would never let me join a band to fulfill my ultimate goal in life which is to be a renowned musician. Instead, I'll continue to be a good girl, living at home with my mother, going to church on Sundays and dating a good devoted Christian Korean, whose preferably a doctor...and finally marrying him. I'll have two children who are well behaved and have nice names. Every Sunday as a family we'll go to church and my children will be in the choir. All round, my life will be nice. Nice and uninteresting. It'll run like clockwork, but my mother will still put her two cents in. Congratulate me, Rory! Because I am officially the world's biggest wimp and my life is so dull people would rather watch paint dry than live my life," Lane stopped, running out of steam. She opened her mouth to begin ranting again, but Rory interjected quickly.

Rory said patiently, "Lane, we've been over this. We both know your mother cares about you. So she'll want what's best for you. She'll want for you to be happy,"

"I am seriously beginning to doubt that," Lane muttered.
