Viva shuffled her deck,a dn activated her duel disk. "We shall play by the
deck master rules." Geno nodded, and his black modified duel disk split in
half, and began to whirl. 'As my deck master, I chose Terrorking
Archfiend!" Behind, the monstrous fiend arose, his eye glowing as he
watched Geno carefully. Viva stood next to the towering beast and looked
up. 'Quite a big deck master, ain't he?"
Geno nodded. "All the better to beat down. Normally, I would chose a different deck, just to throw you off, but this time, there is no need to. I select Marauding Captain as my deck master." A duplicate of Geno appeared, wearing the armor of the Captain. "Ladies first."
"Thank you..."
"You didn't let me finish. I was going to say ladies first, but since there are none here, you may go."
Viva shook. "You lousy, arrogant..." She took a deep breath. 'When I am done with you, the mighty Geno Raods will have nothing to laugh at!"
"Listen: Pegasus can say that, Malik can say that, the annoying guy from Atlantis that nearly killed my friend Seto can say that, but you just fail horrible." The skies glowed a bit. "Now, make your move!"
Viva smiled as she drew. "You believe that warriors are the way? Well, prepare to face the dark power of the Archfiends! I summon Infernal Queen to the field." A pit of fire opened, and from it the queen leapt out, her eyes glowing. The field suddenly looked like a common nice chess board, with inlaid ivory and black blocks.
"Yuck." Geno said, looking at the archfiend. "If those are the royality, I would hate to see the peasants."
"They may be ugly to you, but their power is not to be joked about."
Geno nodded. "Correct." He looked her straight in the eye. "And neither is mine. I will summon Gearfried."
"Perfect fiend food." Geno merely placed on card down, and motioned for her to go. "Hmmm, I wonder, a horrible monster, and a hidden card. I wounder what that is?" She smiled. "I will set this card, and end my turn." (Viva-5500)
Geno nodded. "So sad."
"That I guessed you stategy?"
"That I had you bet either way. I will now sacrifice Gearfried to summon my general-Freed!" As Gearfried faded, the grand general appeared, his armor glowing under the light that was breaking through the clouds. "Now, show that little Queen why you are the head of the army!" Freed nodded, and a sword appeared in his hand. He twirled it, and sliced the queen in half. "Ouch." (Viva-5100)
Viva was fuming. "You lousy...."
"You lousy, you lousy....get a new catchphrase."
Viva was about ready to say something, but she stopped. "You will pay. I will activate Archfiend Roar." Suddenly, a DarkBishop appeared infront of her deck master. "This card will allow me to summon Infernal Queen back to the field!"
"Think again!" Geno said, holding out his hand. "Reveal downface card: Mystical Space Typhoon!" The card flipped up, and wind blew. "This card will destroy your trap card."
Viva's eyes went wide. "You only had that?"
"Correct." Geno replied. "Now, allow me to show you how it is done. I will smmon Blindly Loyal goblin to the field. First, I will have it attack you downface card!" The goblin ran, but smashed into the massive Desrook Archfiend, it's long tentacle claws smacking the goblin away. The field glowed, and became a chess board with more of a stone quality, less fancy, more coarse. Geno nodded, and had his Freed just slice it into two.
"Didn't see that coming, did you?" Viva asked.
"You are doing better, I will give you that."
Viva smiled. "And it is about to get worse. First, I summon VilePawn Archfiend to the field!" The field changed, now a common chess board. "And now, I will play Dark Core!" A massive orb appeared over Freed. "By sending one card to the graveyard, I can remove Freed from play!"
"Well played." Geno said calmly as his general faded. "What now? I know there must be something coming."
"That there is." Viva replied. TerrorKing roared. "I achitave my Deck Masters effect: Dark Castling!"
Geno paled. He knew enough about chess to know what was about to happen. "Oh no."
Agile pulled himself up from the river, and looked over to see Amanda doing the same. He laid on his back, breathing hard, listening as Amanda panted. Both of them had put their all in the water, fighting for several hours. He pulled his sword close, and began to struggle to his feet.
"What's wrong Agile?" Amanda asked, her speech short. "Tired?"
"Yes." Agile said, not even bothering to struggle to create an adequate snappy comeback. "And you too."
Amanda chuckled, but it came out as a cough. "Ya.....right."
Agile smiled weakly, and finally stood on his feet without falling to the ground. He dragged his sword in the river bed as he walked to her. Amanda moaned, and shifted herself up. Both of their wings were wet, useless. She lifted her staff, and they began to fight again.
