Isis stared down at her child, then at the bodies of her other son and her stepdaughter. She gritted her teeth as the pain slowly faded from her jaw. "Children aren't suppose to raise their hand to their mother."
"Women shouldn't murder their husbands in their sleep, but it seems you had no probably doing that to Osiris! You and father did a real good job covering that one up." Geno spat on the group and broken the scythe back into a staff and two swords. He threw the staff and Agile's sword to Seto and Raia, who instantly took a defensive position.
Good, they remember their training. I knew making them Medji would come in handy one day. He turned his thoughts to the issue of his mother. I'm going to get my ass handed to me if I don't ascend...but if I ascend, the power will kill every mortal around..... He turned and looked at Gala. Gala?
Ge...daddy? She said, trying to cover up the slip. What is it?
Get everyone inside the college, now!
Gala shook her head. We can help you....
Not in this battle. It will be too dangerous. He closed his eyes. Please Gala....do this for me.
She looked at her father, and trembled. Every fiber of her being was yelling at her, screaming that this goddess, her grandmother, would kill her father if she didn't try and stop it....yet, in her heart, she knew she could do nothing. Up against this force, she would ever be able to compete. And considering her new power boost would make things worse.....she groans as these thoughts entered her head. She was going to have to start training all over again. It was like she had wake up one day to discover herself in a new body, and she had to learn how to walk again.
"Ow!"
Gala looks at Tea and apologized, and glared at her new wings. Wonderful, she couldn't even do the simple movement of turning around without screwing it up. The only thing that made her smile was the fact that Guy was having just as much trouble. They were going to have to ask their father how he pulled his wings back into his body.
"Everyone, fall back!" Seto and Raia looked at her like she had lost her mind. Yami and Yugi were flapping their gums without a sound, and Joey was confused. Gala shook her head. She hated being in charge. "Daddy needs out of the way, so we don't get hurt."
"But..."
"Now!" She didn't know who had said it, all she knew was they needed some kind of area.....
"The planetarium!" Dr. Kevin said, taking the burden off of Gala's shoulders. "We built it up here so we could avoid most of the lights that city gives off and we built it to survive hurricane winds....maybe it will buy us a few minutes!"
Everyone followed him as he ran to the large doom that stood 50 meters from the battleground. Tristan and Joey knocked the double doors open and they all piled inside, Yugi pulled the door shut and locking it. Geno hit a button, and the telescope retracted and the roof glided shut, sealing them inside.
"Well, now what?" Mai asked, frowning as she looked around the enclosed space. "Do we play a merry game of gin while Geno gets his ass handed to him?"
Kaikou glared at her and resisted the urge to throttle the bimbo. "My father will not, "get his ass handed to him." He is going to kick that goddess' behind and then we'll play gin."
Geno groaned as Isis delivered yet another kick to his gut. I'm getting my ass handed to me. He thought bitterly, rolling to avoid her fist. He looked over to see the roof caving in where she had hit. He gulped and jumped to his feet, drawing his sword. Worse, it's by my mom. Damn it, I bet that ass Gazabora is laughing at this right now: 'You see what happened to the mighty Geno Roads? His mommy whomped him into dust.' Maybe I should have brought a camera, bet he would pay big bucks to see this.
"A fighter to the end, aren't we son?"
"You have to be when your parents throw you into the shadow realm." He said in a chipper tone, before getting his mother's foot in his gut, sending him back to his knees. "God damn woman, your not even wearing shoes, how the hell can your feet be that hard?"
Isis smiled and delivered a foot to his groin, and used her toes to twist his manhood. "Oh, I train real hard, have little dumbbells, and I nearly forgot that I'M A FREAKING GODDESS!"
Geno rolled away, and didn't even notice that his mother was now sitting midair, watching as he tried to pry his eyes out of his skull. Finally, after a few minutes, he felt like he could move without vomiting and looked at her. "It's....real nice to learn...that humor runs...in the family."
Isis nodded and lifted his sword. "Do you know where you got this?" She watched as Geno shook his head. "It was my father Keb's, given to me before he made the journey to join The One. You stole it from my robes as Destiny took you away...won't let the damn thing go...."
"The One?"
Isis paused, and chuckled. "I forget, you don't know such things....thanks to the tainting of the mortals." She twirled the sword. "The gods didn't just appear. Instead, an even greater being created them: The One. Most of the earthly religions nowadays call him God or Lord. But he is so much more: The true ruler of all. So powerful that he doesn't even interfere, as he knows that there is no need. He could wipe us all out and replace us with bunnies with a flash, but instead, he watches, to see if we will do what's right."
Geno frowned as he motioned, and his sword returned to him. "Then he must be mad at you."
Isis laughed. "Please, he could care less about Destiny and mine plans for this ball of dirt. He will let us take heaven, and enjoy the show. All that stands in our way is....you, my boy. The last of the old house, the final hope of those gods." She leaned down. 'They are all praying you win, all of them: Greek, Roman, Norse, Egyptian, Native American; even those of the other worlds: The Hyrulians....which, I might add, are related to you; the Guardian Spirits...all depend on you to save them....tiring, isn't it?"
Geno grinned. "Is this the part where the Green Goblin tells me to join him." He frowned. "Go screw yourself mom, I ain't in the mood."
Isis shrugged and floated away. "As I said, a warrior till the end. Then I will respect your heritage and give you a warrior's death."
She turned, and began to chant. "Did you know anyone can open the Gates of Heaven?"
Geno's eyes went wide as the Greek Weapon Cards appeared, reforming from the dust they had been turned into, and began to spin. In front of his mouth the golden gate faded into reality, and with a wave, smashed open.
Geno stood unsteadily as the army...the creatures he had once lead....were now standing behind his mother. They were made of pure energy, slowly ebbing and flowing as their bodies moved. It was as if they were big pieces of glowing Jell-O....Jell-O that could kill with ease. He had forgotten how frightening they were: They had no smell, made no sound, were terrible and awe inspiring. One knew upon seeing their vaguely humanoid faces that death was close at hand.
Isis smiled as she walked the ranks. "Kill him...and bring me his friends and children."
Geno rose to try and head them off, but never made it. Instead, the army surged forward, and dragging him into the mad rush of war. He felt a sword like fire enter his gut, and his last thought was that he hoped the gods were off helping his friends...considering the fact they were letting him die.
