And then, the view cleared, and they witnessed the greatest of fights, of wars. Duel Mosnters, working together, to destroy the army of light. One of the Blue Eyes bellowed as a warrior stabbed it. It tried to grab it, but it moved to quick....

"Dark Magic attack!" It blinked as the Dark Magician Girl attacked, sending the warrior flying. It let out a bellow of gratitude, and then turned to fire another rank.

Jinzo and Necrofear fought back to back, working together to kepe anyone near them at bay. Jinzo's hands glowed as he released a energy ball, and Necrofear quickly used her abilities to send it at the most warriors she could get in a row.

Chaos Soldier cut a path for the Legendary Fisherman as he lead the warrior fo the deep into an attack run. Fotress Wall bellowed, it cannons firing, delievering round after round into the army. Chaos Soldier spun and leapt on it's back,a nd began to fire his own attacks. He smiled as Neo and DD Warrior Lady quickly opened a portal that snet 50 warriors to hell.

Wingweaver flew with the harpies and a Red Eyes while the three Vampires sank their fangs into any warrior that got to close. The fliers continued to circle, confusing those below them.

But as this was going on, something far more important was occurring. Even though the last rush of duel monsters was taking out the army, it was nothing more then a bid for a few more minutes. Shima had sensed it: Geno was almost strong enough to ascend to tue godhood. Even though he said he was a child of the gods, he was still just an angelic. But if they could buy him a few minutes, he could ascend, beocmign a god and face Isis head on. All they had to do was buy him a few more sec...

"YAA!"

Shima smiled as the Marauding Captain took out a warrior at her right. She might not have her husband in life, but she would always have a part of his soul in the Marauding Captain. Just like she wasn't fully Shima, he was merely a piece, but enough to keep the soul alive. He grinned and quickly kissed her before attacking another warrior.

She turned, and looke back at Geno. There was another reason for this....if Geno ascended, he would leave his mortal coils behind....behind for the Marauder. In effect, he would become someone else, and she would get her husband back. He was about to split in two, and nothing would keep her from making sure it happened.

At least Kaikou and her friends are safe in that shield. Any human out here during the ascension would be killed.

Geno had risen in the air, slowly cocconed in a envelop of light. His wings had faded into his back, his sword clasped in his hands. He closed his eyes, and reached out for the power. It was like those horses who ahd the carrot dangling right in front of them. He reached, forcing his body to surrender, to fade, to rebuild. He felt himself letting go, embracing it all....

Serenity gasped and grabbed Tristan's arm. He looked, and felt the blood leave his body. Geno was int eh air...but so was Isis. She was summoning a spell..a spell to kill him once and for all. "We have to warn him!" Serenity screamed, pounding on the force field. No oen else noticed, the battle aroudnt ehm made it you ahd to be right next to a person to hear.

"Coem on! Some one has to help him! He is just floating there..."

Dr. Kevin frowned and held up his hand to quiet them. "He is ascending....if she had started a minute later, we would be good...but now, she will hit him right when he ascends, killing him and every duel monster here." He paused. 'Of coruse, anyone who goes out there will die."

"What do we do?" Serenity asked.

Dr. Kevin handed Tristan his briefcase. "Inside are all my weapons. They can help you"

"What are you saying?"

You have to protect them now"

Tristan grabbed his arm. 'Don't..."

"Only I can get out there!" he pleaded with Tristan. "We are almost out of time..."

"But you'll die!"

Dr. Kevin nodded, and then looked at the three vampires. "I belong with my kind...not amoung the living....besides...." he smiled sadly. "I want to see how it ends."

And with that, he was gone.

And then he was back, above Isis. She didn't have time to move as his cane cracked across her skull, knocking her out cold. He landed, and rolled, in agony as the light Geno was now giving off burned him. Geno was like a candle, glowing brighter....

"So this is when the shift occurs...when one age ends and another begins." He closed his eyes, and heard the explosion of power as Geno, the mortal, died, and Geno, the god, was born. Everything seemed to slow....he could hear Tristan scream his name, the others watching him...

"It's not voer yet Kevin."

Kevin looked around, confused. It was as if everything had stopped. No....merely slowed to a crawl. In front of him, a shaft of light from a cloud fell, and from it descended a woman. She reminded him vaguely of Ishizu: She was Egyptian, with long black hair and fine white robes. But here eyes glowed silver like Geno's, and wings decorated her back. She was younger then Isis....

"Nephthys." He said quietly.

"The gods didn't abandon you."

He frowned. "Is that so? They left my family die, to lvie their days in the hell of the shadow realm, to make me an orphan?"

"Had they not died, you would not have that gem, and Geno would be dead."

"Oh, so his life equals my family's sanity?!?!"

Neph smiled. "Look at their backs."

He did, and for the first time, noticed the silver scars...the same ones Genoa dn Agile had. "Their angels?"

"Your parents and uncle were not killed by gravekeepers. They died saving an Egyptian boy from a cave in at one fo the tombs. They had every reason to be evil....but still sacrificed everything to save someone from a race that wanted them dead. As such, they were allowed to become angelics...but refused. They wanted to be duel monsters, so they could be with you."

Dr. Kevin trembled. "You....you didn't leave us?"

Neph walked towads him and gave him a hug. "It's only just begun."

And with that, time sped up, and they were ingulfed.
