Cloud walked down the streets of the newly found Sector 15, his hands in pocket. An uneasy look was on his face, as his blue-green mako eyes looked on the path before him. It had been four years since he had saved the world from the wrath of Meteor and Sephiroth, and Barret and the others had expected for Cloud to be happy after all of this, yet, there was something missing. Cloud stopped, he had just stopped day-dreaming about the past times. He has found himself at the shortcut between Sectors 15 and 5. He figures he had to go shopping for Tifa, because, after the liberating of the world they had ran away and gotten married, and recently Tifa had broken her ankle and is now in the hospital leaving Cloud to do the chores. Suddenly, after more walking, he stopped. He had just stopped in front of the Midgar Chapel. Where Aeris had officially met Cloud, then it hit him. That's it! What had been missing in him. The word Aeris had flashed in his mind as if on one of Wall Market's famous neon signs. He figured before stopping at Kalm he would visit the chapel. He proceeded inside slowly and cautiously. There seemed to be a....sort of aura in this place, a feeling of warmth. Cloud stared at the gravestones of Aeris and Elmyra, and thought back to the beginning, when this all started. He closed his eyes, then, out of nowhere, a voice spoke...
"Well, it certainly has been a while.."
"What? That sounds like...", Cloud said alarmingly.
"...like Sephiroth, dosen't it? Well you weak being, let me tell you this, you won't be so lucky next time."
"What? What do you mean?"
No answer. Cloud drew his Buster Sword, and cautiously walked out of the chapel. He raised an eyebrow as he stopped to think about what had just happened. The voice sounded very much like Sephiroth, but, it was so eerie. He thought he was dead, he knew so, he had slain Sephiroth four years ago. Thinking, he continued. Soon he came to the gate. Surprised, he spotted Barret leaning against the wall.
"Hey! Barret! Whatcha up to?", Cloud asked with a grin.
"Oh, hey punk!", Barret said with an attitude. "Well, I was just hanging around making sure no monsters cross the Midgar gate. The defenses are lacking, somehow. All the guards walked off for a break somehow."
"Hmm...odd, I thought New Shinra was so tough not even breaks were allowed."
"Just what I thought..."
"Mm. So where you off to?"
"Oh, to Kalm to go grocery shopping."
"Ah, since Tifa broke her ankle you have to do everything for her, right?"
"Yep, it's not too bad. Hey how's reconstruction of Sector 7 coming along?"
"Its good, well better get going, Cloud. Nights on the field are dangerous."
"Ha! Ha! Ha! Like any monster could stand up to me."
"Well, true."
"Well, I'd better be off. Don't want to be caught in the dark."
And so, after that, they shook hand, er, gun, and Cloud set off to Kalm.
