Authors note: First My little pony shounen-ai I've ever seen! It's not about any ponies but well...it'll do for the moment. Someday I will write a slash about two ponies.
And I'm not completely sure that those are their real names, but in the swedish translation they were named like this.
Thanks to the people who reviewed 'promise'.

He stood and waved after the ponies until he couldn't see them anymore, then he turned back to the castle and began to walk to the door. He'd better found Sunny before-
"Edgar?"
He froze and without turning around he answered his father. "Yes?" He heard footsteps and then a wing landed on his shoulder. The king sighed.
"Son, I think we need to talk."
The prince nodded and followed his father inside the big castle. This wasn't going to be fun, but he knew he had to listen to this. He looked at his father. Would he do it again? No he couldn't, could he? After all, he had promised the ponies to never use it ever again.
Still he couldn't help but worry when the king opened the doors to the throne room.
Sunny had fallen asleep beside the machine and was snoring lightly. The prince couldn't help but smile.
The king cleared his throat loudly and walked to the throne. Edgar walked towards the sleeping duck and shook him awake.
"Hm?" He opened one eye and then the other. "Hi."
Edgar smiled down at him and then he bent down and whispered, "Could you wait outside for a second? Dad wants to talk to me."
Sunny rubbed his eyes and got up to a sitting position. "Maybe I should go home now. My family will begin to worry."
The penguin nodded. "Can I see you tomorrow then?"
The yellow duck smiled and stood up. "'Course you can. We don't need to fly to the south now when the cold's gone. See you!" He went out through the door and closed it silently.
Edgar turned around so he was facing his father. The king carefully avoided his eyes as he began to speak.
"I can't really say that I was happy when you told me about your relationship with that duck."
Now that was an understatement if he'd ever heard one. "He has a name."
"Right. I'm sorry." He sat down on the throne and sighed. "And then I thought that, if you absolutely had to be with a boy, you could at least be with a penguin."
"I love Sunny."
"Yes, I've understood that much. I just..." He sighed again and looked at the machine in regret. "Edgar I'm so sorry for what I've done."
"It's ok-"
"No, it's not. I went to far and we both know that. But now I finally understand how much you means to me and that I couldn't bear losing you. If that's what you want, you may be with that d-Sunny, I mean."
The prince broke into a wide smile. "You really mean that?"
"I do. I wont keep you from seeing each other since that would only make you unhappy, and that would make me unhappy."
"Thank you father!" He rushed forward and hugged his father before he walked back to his own room, whistling all the way.
The king remained in the throne room a couple of minutes and came to two conclusions. 1, It had been the right decision to let Edgar continue meeting his friend, and 2, He would get someone to remove that damned machine first thing tomorrow morning.
.:End:.
