Simon's Little Secret 3
Simon paced the hall near the front door restlessly. He glanced at his watch for the third time in two minutes.
"Simon, relax! We want to see him. We are ok with you two." Said Annie.
"I know Mom, I'm just restless is all."
"I'll get you a hot chocolate. You can....
The doorbell rang then. Simon cleared hi throat and opened the door. There stood Rod. Looking much the same has he had looked back when he was with
Lucy, just older and his hair was in a neat ponytail. He held out his arms as he walked into the Camden house. Simon thought he was the one getting the hug, but Rod hurried over to Annie and held her tightly.
"I've missed you too Rod." Annie said with a laugh.
Lucy tentatively poked her head around the corner and said shyly.
"Hi Rod."
"Hey squirt." He said affectionately. His eyes widened in surprise as she came closer, and he noticed her extended belly.
"Woah!" He uttered in his Keanu style commentary.
Simon nudged him on the hip and said,
"Um, are you forgetting me?"
Rod blushed, and enveloped Simon in a giant hug.
"Dude, I'm sorry. I haven't seen the family in forever. I just wanted to say hello. I wasn't ignoring you honey." With that he kissed Simon's cheek and then stepped back again.
Eric had entered the room now.
Annie saw that Rod had grown to almost exactly the same height and weight, as Eric was.
At dinner Rod met and got reacquainted with the rest of the Camdems. Sam and David had set off to bed after that.
Lucy asked them. "When did you to run into each other, and how did...?"
She didn't know how to ask the rest of the question. She looked down at her folded hands instead.
"I'll tell them," said Rod volunteering. "I was having trouble in accounting classes and had signed up for a tutor. I was waiting in the library, and in walked Simon." Rod's whole face was lit up with a big grin. "Who else's help could I use more that "Mr. Bank of Simon?"
Simon laughed at his old nickname. "Yeah I hadn't even really noticed the name of the student I was tutoring yet. I had just voice mailed him and told him to meet me there I had no idea it was the same Rod, Lucy had dated because the name on the card was Rodger. I never even thought twice about the last name until I saw him. I was surprised too."
The two young men went on about how they'd done a month's worth of tutoring, before the feelings had arisen. Simon admitted that he'd been questioning his sexuality since before the accident he'd had. And when Rod had come out to him in tutoring that it was like he was released from some invisible bonds. And it was pretty much instant romance. They had not had any sexual contact yet, just kissing and sleeping- actually SLEEPING together. And had been insupportable ever since.
Hearing that reconfirmed for the second time was a relief to Eric and Annie.
Sure they'd faced adversity at school, and such. But they felt they were truly in love and were ready to start living as a couple.
Simon hugged his mom and dad and said. "I'm so glad you guys are ok with this."
And they were. As all good parents should be.
The End.
