She Never Loved Me

PG

A D/G fic told from Harry's POV. This takes place after the defeat of Voldemort, Draco and Ginny are dead (so they think) and Harry discovers the truth from his late wife's diary.

Ginevra never loved me, well no more than one would love a brother. We'd married right after she graduated from Hogwarts, she wanted to start a family. We would've been married six years today, if she hadn't been killed before I had been able to defeat Tom Riddle.

I discovered her diary shortly after, and despite my conscious telling me it was wrong, I read it. It had entries from the end of her third year. Shortly after I found out about him. She had been cheating on me with my worst enemy, his father a follower of the evil wizard I sought to destroy.

So that's how she got the wands back in my fifth year, she had been shagging Draco Malfoy for almost a year. That also answered my question of why she wasn't a virgin when we got married. She had refused to tell me who her first had been.

Up until the day she died she had been seeing him! When she came home in the evening HE had been the one loving her all day. My own child wasn't even mine it seems. The daughter I had raised for the past five years was a Malfoy! I should've seen it earlier, Olivia had the Weasley hair and freckles but her eyes were the shade of gray that could've come from only one person.

And Hermione had known. She had helped to keep it a secret for ten years. Even Ron had known, surprisingly. He and Hermione were married, but he doubted Hermione was secretly seeing Blaise Zabini. How could they have let this happened? They knew she was with a Malfoy, but they didn't do anything to stop it.

With this last thought Harry stomped away angrily from his wife's grave. Flowers we piled high all around, charmed to live through any kind of weather. Unbeknownst to him, the decorated grave was empty.

Miles away in a manor near the sea, Draco Malfoy, his new wife Ginevra, and their daughter Olivia sat in the grass enjoying the sunset. Draco put his arms around his new family, happy that they were finally together, and that not even Potter could stand in their way now.
