A soldier, A woman.
I'm beginning to wonder if it was all worth it. All that training, cocky CO's, firefights, and working at the pentagon, and here I am, the best of the best, being told I'm not wanted on his team.
The nerve.
I can handle just as much as he can.
I'm a soldier.
A warrior.
I try not to slap him, with his macho attitude, but I restrain myself. I defiantly won't get on his team if I attack him. I feel my anger begin to bubble over, and I'm sure they can all see I'm getting irritated. Taking a deep breath, trying to recompose my composure, I turn to him and come out with a few slick, well placed words. Yep, there goes the eyebrow.
He turns to the leader, Hammond I think his name was, and says something I don't catch. Hammond frowns and retorts, but my ears refuse to hear any sound but his irritating voice.
"Fine." He says, pouting slightly. Laying it on thick, we start talking about Major Mason figurines, the others seem nice enough. But I need to prove myself, like I have been ever since I joined the Air Force. But I'm not a quitter. I know they don't want a woman in their ranks, but here I am. Against everyone.
I won't quit.
Samantha Carter.
Jack stares in horror at the computer screen. He knows he's not supposed to be on 2IC's computer, looking at her private diary entries, but he couldn't help himself. She had left it logged in, so he had jumped on when Sam went for a coffee. He had no idea she thought of him this way when they first began. He can't help but wonder what she thinks of him now.
Footsteps in the corridor outside alert him to her return, and he exits the program, jumping off the wheelie chair and leaning against the bench as she enters her lab.
"Here you go sir." She says, handing him a coffee. Taking a sip, he splutters.
"Low fat?" He asks, peeking through the lid. "Low fat?"
She grins mischievously and retorts;
"I thought you might want to lose those extra calories."
Eyebrows raising, he turns to the shiny side of some machines and checks his stomach.
"I have one question for you." He said seriously, eyes narrowing. The grin slid of Sam's face and she looked at him seriously.
"Does my butt look big in these pants?"
They both laughed.
Yep. Everything was fine between them.
The end!
