Gohan toddled behind his father, trying to keep up. Chi-chi watched him with amusement from the window. From the time he could walk, Gohan's sole goal had been to keep up with Goku. At four years old, he was a very determined toddler.

Goku was exercising as usual and Gohan was imitating him.

"Hah! Uh!" Goku grunted as he did squats in his fully weighted gi. Gohan grunted too, but more out of imitation than because his squats were costing him any effort.

Smiling down at his son, Goku leaned down and picked him up, tossing him lightly into the air making Gohan squeal with delight.

"More daddy!"

Laughing, Goku tucked him under his arm and took off running. He jumped over the fence and took off down towards the lake. Chi-chi could hear Gohan's laughter an exact octave over Goku's. She'd scold Goku later for "being careless" but she knew that nothing would happen to Gohan while he was in his father's care.

When Goku reached the lake he shouted, "Hold your breath, Gohan!" and leapt in. The water splashed over them both as he kicked out to keep them afloat. Goku pulled off his shirt and tossed it on the side of the lake. He kicked his boots over there as well and then tossed Gohan into the water.

Gohan yelled in fun and then did his best to dunk his much larger father. Goku held his breath and let his son push him under. When he surfaced, he sprayed water out of his mouth, increasing Gohan's giggles.

After a few more minutes, Goku swam back to the shore, tugging his four year old with him. They stretched out on the grass and he pulled Gohan onto his chest. A few minutes later, they were both snoring gently under the warmth of the sun.

Chi-chi couldn't help but laugh when she found them. Even their snores were an octave apart.
