Title: And then, There was One
By: Queen-of-Sporks
Disclaimer: As much as I want to comfort the last remaining Marauder (in my eye's the traitor's dead!) he doesn't belong to me. J. K. Rowling has that undeniable privalage and honor... sigh Maybe if I go and... trails off to plot on how to kidnap Lupin
Author's Note: I really hope you like this. I just kinda threw it together while I was thinking of OotP... Poor everyone... sigh Please review. Criticism is very welcome as I would truly like to improve my poetry skills. Enjoy...
You were the first to go though we didn't think you gone.
And because of your betrayal, one of us was killed.
Then another one went after and was put away forever.
You foul creature, how you must have been thrilled.
Then as in the beginning, I was left all alone,
Thinking two were dead and the traitor locked away.
How it pained my heart, having my only friends torn apart,
Just when I thought the Marauders would always stay.
Then the third year came around, and I was hired to teach,
And soon we all discovered the Prisoner of Azkaban escaped.
Terrified as everyone was, I thought I knew what he was after,
Until I saw the Map and learned the first to go escaped his fate.
But before we truly finished him off, he got away again,
And disappointed as we were it really mattered not at all,
Because the one I had originally guessed the traitor be,
I found to be the innocent one, not guilty at all.
So reunited were the Marauders, even though now reduced to two.
We talked and remembered and worried and fought,
But friends we would remain forever, 'til the end.
It was all working out for the best. Or so I thought.
Then the fifth year came and went in a flash,
Like the light that appeared from your dear cousin's wand.
And desperately though we tried to stop it,
You fell through the Veil of death and it was all done.
So once again, I am to sit here by myself,
Because from my life destiny seems to want you all gone.
Therefore I sit trying to remember the good times,
And forget that of the four that once were, now remains only one.
