The teacher called Dawn Summers to see her after class.
"That story you turned in yesterday? Excellent. It's the most creative piece I've ever read."
"Thank you, Mrs. Jackson," she replied shyly.
"But I'm curious... where'd you get the idea?"
"Which part?"
"All of it – the vampire with a soul, the Key... what influenced you to write this?"
She thought for a moment before answering. "My sister."
"Buffy?" she questioned. "I think I had her in class a few years ago. Not as hard-working as you, I must say."
"I wish you were right," she thought as she walked away.
