This was an assignment that my World Lit. teacher gave. I'm quite proud of it, so I decided to post it here. It's an existentialist (first let me say the I am NOT an existentialist. I am a Christian, and I DO believe in a higher power, that is, God... anyway) version of the nursery rhyme, Jack and Jill, but of course I tweaked it a little to make it Harry Potter themed. :-) Hope ya like it.

.

Ron and Hermione went up the hill
without the help
of a higher power;
they weren't sure if there was one.
Of their own free will they went up.
Of their own free will they carried
with them a bucket.

They were alone but for themselves,
without a higher power
to help them in their climb.

Alone, Ron and Hermione,
without the help
of a higher power,
filled the bucket with water
from the solitary well.

Down the hill Ron and Hermione went
carrying the water filled bucket,
again of their own free will
and without the help
of a higher power.

The next moment will be shaped,
by the mistake, or choice,
that Ron makes:
Over a single, solitary rock he trips.
Dropping the bucket,
he falls down the hill,
and Hermione comes tumbling after.
