A poem for the little girl I once knew

Memories of a distant past of a childhood not so great

But time spent with you made it better for us for the moment

Then you went away and returned cold hearted and bitter like he always wanted you to be just like the place we grew up in, the little girl I loved gone forever

You always said you wanted more then the life you now lead

So now I must leave this place and lead the life we use to dream about together when we were young

Alone without you here with me so I'll say goodbye to you the little girl I once knew and look towards the freedom I now seek with a sad happy smile for the little girl I once knew
