I felt a foot dig into my spine as another slammed repeatedly into me. After another two kicks I was kicked onto my back and spat on. Another man came up and grabbed my hair jerking me up into a sitting position so the other men could see my face, blossoming from red to a dull brown.

"Look at the demon lover lads." He dropped my hair and kicked me in the head. I dropped immediately my head spinning.

"I can't believe you could lower yourself to mate with a demon. You deserve death."

One of the three guys surrounding me picked me up by my hair again, this guy didn't simple drop me though, he slammed me into a tree. I screamed and the third guy came up and clamped a dirty, sweaty hand over my nose and mouth. "You scream again, I'll cut out your tongue. And then after I'm finished with you I'll kill you."

Kill me? He couldn't kill me, I swore I'd never leave Inuyasha alone! I swore! I felt a knife run across my chest and stomach ripping the light fabric. I let out a small sob as he pressed his mouth against mine, trying to force mine open. I resisted until he forced my jaw open with his hands. I bit him and he reared back slapping my face with the knife, smiling happily when it sliced into my skin.

"Worthless creature." He stood up and the other two, which I now knew to be his goons started in on me again. One managed to kick me straight in the wrist and I let out a scream as I felt something shatter. "Demon whore, how could you desiccate your own kind like this?!"

Inu, Inuyasha, please come. Please.

The biggest guy came hauling my up by my neck. He pushed me into a tree pressing his filthy mouth to mine as I struggled to breathe kicking against him in a attempt to get his hand away from my neck.

Suddenly I dropped to my feet, and them unable to support me to the ground. I heard the sounds of a fight but didn't bother to open my eyes. Only when I was picked up in strong familiar arms did I open my eyes to see Inuyasha.

"Inu..." I gave a small hiccupping sob and clenched my good hand in his fire rat.

"I'm sorry Kagome, I'm sorry."

He stopped once we were a good distance away from the clearing the men had caught me in. He slowly and carefully bandaged my wound, kissing my forehead tenderly when he finished. He slowly laid me down on my sleeping bag tenderly hugging me.

"Your wrist is broken, you'll have to be extra careful until I can get us to the old woman."

"You alright Kagome?" he whispered and I nodded slowly.

"Please, Inuyasha, hold me?" he was immediately by my side his arms wrapped tightly around me as if protecting me from the world.

"Why did they hurt you Kagome?" he whispered.

"They just wanted some fun Inuyasha."

He excepted my story with a small nod. "I'm sorry I wasn't there." I turned to him and kissed his lips softly.

"Don't worry Inuyasha. Nothing happened." I closed me eyes and snuggled into his chest, feeling safe at last.

"I'll never leave you Inu."

"Promise?"

"Promise."
