The Color of Fire

Pairing: Well ... duh. Ron/Hermione
Rating: G (?) I don't know, could it possibly push PG? Why don't you tell me if you're unhappy with the rating?
Summery: Hermione finds Ron asleep down in the common room one night and sees him in a new light. Set in 5th year.
Dedicated: This little piece of crud is dedicated to Allison who is my Ron/Hermione spine. This first one's for you ...
A/N: Well, of course I own none of these characters, or I wouldn't even be here. Don't sue me. Please. This is my first story, and is completely not beta-ed, so please bear with me ...
He had fallen asleep in one of the beaten up armchairs again.
'What am I going to do with him? Impudent boy. I'll bet he didn't even finish Professor McGonagall's essay. Ugh!' Hermione thought to herself, spotting Ron in the scarlet drenched common room again. She had been checking on it to make sure everyone was in their respectful beds; it looked like Ron had at least attempted the same prefect act. Of course, attempted was the key word. 'He has probably been down here a while ..." she thought absentmindedly. She glanced at her wristwatch. 11:56. She gave another silent indignant huff as she walked off the stair landing and ambled up to the lanky boy curled in the armchair.
She sighed despite herself when she looked down upon him. His long legs were curled up and large feet tucked under body. His new navy pajamas hung perfectly around his lithely muscled calves and thighs, the cotton clothe stretching at the point where the bones of his knees protruded slightly. A long arm extended from bowed shoulders to rest a freckled hand on said knee and the other curled up under a broad chest to pillow his head. Ginger locks spilled over his long face, shading his forehead as the tips feathered his wrist.
He had grown so much from the first day she met him. She thought fondly back to the black smudge on his long freckled nose. Wait. Fondly? She shook her head. 'No need with filling my thoughts with such nonsense. Fondly? Puh!'
"Ron ... Wake up Ron. You need to get up to your own dormitory." She started, reaching her hand to shake him, but she stopped. He sighed, brow slightly furrowed with annoyance at the disruption upon his sleep before returning back into a peaceful state.
Maybe she could wait for just a while ... at least until he was ready ...
