Disapparating all three of them had put a strain on Albus, but he had no
time to be weak,
the young man beside him needed him. Reaching the steps up to the entrance Albus
reached out to steady Harry. He could only hope this did not cause Harry to retreat within
himself so soon after Sirius. Pushing the doors open and entering the hall followed
closely by Harry carrying Hermione's body. Albus could feel the sadness erupting threw
the whole school, its sadness of losing one its children.
Walking slowly with Hermione in his arms thru the halls to the hospital wing Harry could
hear the paintings and ghost weeping. Arriving in the hospital wing Harry heard Madam
Pomfrey sharp grasp.
"Bring her over here Mr. Potter." She called rush toward Harry. Looking over the young
boy's head to the headmaster Poppy closed her eyes in sadness as the headmaster shook
his head.
Laying Hermione down on the bed Harry reached out and touched her face. Looking up
at Madam Pomfrey he said, "Ron and the others they can't see her like this, I don't want
anyone to remember her like this I want them to remember the angel, bossy know-it-all
that we have all loved for years, I want them to see her that way, promise me Madam
Pomfrey".
Looking at the young boy in front of her Poppy could not help but feel heartbroken for
him, he shouldn't have to want to protect his friends just as this sweat girl should not
have died. With tears trailing down her face she replied, "I will make sure she looks like
the sweat angel she is."
Nodding Harry turned away from her and began to walk towards the door. Walking away from the Hospital wing Harry headed up to the Gryffindor common room. Reaching the portrait of the fat lady he said, "I don't know the password but please let me pass." Tears again begin to fall. The fat lady looked at the one of her young gryffindor and said, "you do not need the password my boy enter" and swung open for Harry to enter. Walking thru the common room and to the stairs that would lead up to his room Harry turned and went up the stairs to the girls side instead, had he tried this during the school year the stairs would have become a slide and he would have found himself on his bum but its as if the castle senesced his sadness and loss. Entering the girls room Harry walked over to the bed he knew to be Hermione's and laid down and sobbed for his lost friend.
Knocking softly on the door to Minerva's rooms Albus opened the door to find Minerva watching a ginger colored cat tears sliding down her face. Smiling sadly at the cats as it lifted it head Albus said, "Go to him". Rising and jumping down off the chair as if waiting for the headmaster to come and give it permission to leave Crookshanks sprinted out of the doorway towards the Gryffindor tower.
Standing worry etched across her face Minerva said "do you think it wise to let it go to him?"
Reaching out to take his wife of over forty years he says "I think it very unwise not to."
"Will you tell them Albus?" Minerva asked looking at her husband. Patting Minerva hand he replied "No my dear, Tonks will be taking there things to them and Remus will bring her things here." Looking at his wife he knew this was going to ripe her apart if she knew the truth. So many secrets between them, so many lies he would protect them no matter the cost.
