Rain: OK. Please be nice this is my first fanfic. I'm not sure how well written it is so please be nice. OH and this is AU

Thirteen-year-old Brenna Nichols stood in the hospital waiting room as she awaited news on her four best friends. Her jet-black hair was pulled up away from her pale face and she couldn't help the tears that fell as she worried.

The explosion hadn't been anyone's fault. No one had planned it, or so Brenna thought. Ray, Kai, Max and Tyson. Oh the blood that had poured from them and not matter how hard she tried to stem the blood while someone called an ambulance, it poured. So it was possible that they would die from blood loss. She had even given a pint of blood as her, Ray and Kai had the same type.

She turned and looked in the corner of the waiting room. Mr. Granger, Tyson's grandpa, Judy Tate and Alex Tate, Max's parents and Kenny. As for Ray's his family didn't care and Kai didn't have any family.

Their faces were pale and they looked hurt. How would they be hurt, Brenna thought, they weren't the ones there that watched as the red sticky blood flow out of them like it was water.

She looked up her face tear stained as a doctor came out dressed in scrubs with a sympathic smile, "I'm sorry but we lost them. There was too much damage."

"No. No!" Brenna yelled and flung herself at the doctor. How could he standing there telling her that? Looking so clean in his green scrubs with little splotches of blood here and there, while she stood there covered in it.

Mr. Granger wrapped his arm around her waist and gently pulled her back, "Brenna relax. Its not his fault. You shouldn't be attacking him little one."

Brenna looked up at him with tears in ther emerald eyes, "Please tell me that he's lying. That all of this is just a sick joke and and that they are really alive and are going to be walking out of their and just a few minutes. All calm like the normally are."

Judy walked forward, "None of us can tell you that Brenna. Alex and I want to thank you for being such a good friend for Max. He loved talking about you and everything you guys did together." She nodded when a nurse came out, "We want you to take Maxie's shirt. He loved it."

Mr. Granger nodded, "Take Tyson's cap, Ray's bandana, and Kai's scarf. They'd want you to have them Brenna. And remember them as they were not as they are."

"How can you just sit there and be so calm about all of this," Brenna asked when the nurse placed everything in her arms.

"Because we have to. Brenna always remember that the boys loved you to death. Nothing is going to stop that love from coming from heaven," Judy said softly, "Lets go we'll give you a ride home."

"No thanks. I think I can make it from here. I'll walk home."

"Its raining," Mr. Granger stated.

"Yeah well my heart's bleeding. So it doesn't matter," Brenna whispered and walked outside into the rain.

As she walked her tears mixed with the rain and finally she collasped as everything washed over her. Images of the four, or rather three of them goofing around and Kai standing by the side just smirking. Then of the explosion and how much fun they were having.

Finally when she thought her tears were dried she walked home. When she opened the door her ten-year-old brother, Aiden stood there, "How are they Brenna? They're alive right?"

"God no baby they aren't," Her heart broke even more when he started crying. She quickly put her stuff down and pulled him against her. Once again she started crying. And that was the last thing she did with her little brother again.
