Ch4: Blackside: In the Mansion
Starfire was the first to see the mansion be encased in the black orb. She stared into it and was frozen with fear. It seemed to be full of swirling dark clouds. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't see the mansion at all.
She screamed. It was a scream that could easily wake up everyone in the tower and instantly ready them for a fight. Starfire noticed the titans assemble in the room where she stood.
"Starfire! What is it?" demanded Robin. He had to know of something was wrong. He made that his duty.
"Look!" Starfire pointed a finger at the ominous orb just in view.
"At the new twenty-four hour pizza stand?" asked Beast Boy, rubbing his stomach in hunger. Even if it was the middle of the night, food was food.
"No Beast Boy, at the-," Raven started, and Cyborg finished.
"Black orb where the Elemental Squad's mansion was."
"Oh, that," said Beast Boy sheepishly. Then it dawned on him. If that was the mansion, then- "Terra's in trouble!" cried Beast Boy.
"We have got to rescue her!" pleaded Starfire.
"Don't worry Star, were already gone," Robin finished. The five of them ran outside, and rushed over to the mansion.

Terra sat up, and rubbed her head. Where was she? She stood up, and looked around.
She instantly wished that she hadn't even sat up. Terra was in what looked like her room, but it was...changed. The cliffs were black, and seemed to have mouths on the side with jagged teeth sticking out. The bottom of the canyon was alight in black flames. There were tentacles sticking out of one of the walls, which seemed to be a purple vortex. The entire atmosphere was deep night, and there weren't even any stars.
"What...is this place?!" she gasped to herself. It looked like she was in a nightmare, or a scene from a horror movie.
Raven would love this place, her mind thought sarcastically.
She walked over to where the bridge used to be, and saw what looked like a path made out of bone. She gasped, and decided against crossing it. Terra, instead, used her powers to form a rock pathway with stone from one of the none-black walls. Even then she crossed with caution.
"Whatever this place is, I can't wait to leave," she said to herself quietly, and pushed open the door to the main hall.

Heron couldn't focus. He had no idea what was happening. All he knew was that he was on what felt like a metal table. He couldn't move, and didn't enjoy what was happening to him at all.
When Heron managed to open his eyes, he saw what looked like an excessively large laser pointed at him from above.
"What's happening?" he grumbled.
"What's happening? Your about to lose all conscious thought. Need a better explanation?" asked a hard voice.
Heron looked up, and saw a menacing figure looming over him. Half of his face was covered in a bronze mask. The other half was black. He guessed it was the same mask. He was tall. Very tall, at least from his point of view.
"My name is Slade, and you and your friends will soon work for me. Yes, even your little friend Elani," Slade couldn't resist. He knew what the boys reaction would be.
"DON'T TOUCH HER YOU DIRT-BAG!" hollered Heron.
"My my! Touchy, aren't we?" Slade said in his collected voice. Heron didn't even know if what he said affected him in the slightest. Slade walked over to a small control panel, and threw a switch.
"What are you doing?" demanded Heron.
"Don't worry, you won't worry about anything ever again when I'm finished," Slade said. Heron's eyes grew wide with fear. Soon he was going to be fried.

The halls were just as gloomy as her room, and even seemed to be alive. Terra could have sworn that she heard the walls breathing at least three times. She jumped every time.
"Why did I leave my friends," Terra sighed to herself. She was so surrounded in gloom that she didn't even realize where she was going until she slammed head on into Ion.
"Are you alright?" he asked as he helped Terra back to her feet.
"You mean besides the fact that the mansion is alive and there isn't any escape that I can see?" asked Terra.
"Oh yeah...that is a problem isn't it?" asked Ion, rubbing his head.
"You think?" snarled Terra.
"I think that I know a way out," Ion said flatly.
"Huh? How?" Terra asked.
"There's only one person I can think of that can do this to a place," Ion said with a nasty look on his face.
"You mean that you might know who it is? If we stop them, then will everything turn back?" Terra asked hopefully.
"Maybe, but we'd better hurry up," Ion said.
"What first?" asked Terra.
"We should find the others," Ion told her.
"So we should go to their rooms," she thought out loud.
"Yea," said Ion. They ran off down the hall towards where they thought Elani's room was.

Slade was about to through the switch on Heron, when he noticed something in his outside cameras. The titans were attacking the dome surrounding the warped mansion.
"They shouldn't be here yet," he whispered to no one. He would just have to execute his plan on Heron and have him exterminate them. He looked back at the table where the metal restraints held down Heron. Only, he wasn't there.
The four restraints were broken. Each one melted through.
"The boys power!" he moaned to himself. How could he be so careless? Now one was missing.
"You!" cried Slade. A figure stepped into the center of the room.
"Yes, master Slade?" he said cautiously.
"I want you to capture the one who escaped. I have busyness to attend to," he growled.
"Yes, master Slade." The figure stepped out of the room, and started to pursue Heron. He tripped on the way out. "Ow," he whispered, and then ran after Heron.
Slade shook his head, and then looked at his camera. The titans were gone. They seemed to have ran through a hole in the orb.
"But how?" he asked himself. Then it hit him. When his assistant tripped, part of his focus vanished, causing part of his orb to disappear. Now the titans were in the mansion, and he had to stop it.
* * *
Heron ran down the mutated hall. Melting through the restraints had been easy. Now all he had to do was get out.
He heard two voices ahead, and ducked. They were in front of what he thought was Elani's room. They were probably there to take her to that Slade guy. He wouldn't allow it!
Heron suddenly sprang up, and tackled the enemies.
* * *
Raven stood in the middle of what she thought was a horror movie. The front gate was twisted, and the mansion looked menacing. Just her kind of place.
The others jumped with fear when they saw it, but she merely grinned. She walked up to a sign and read what it had o say aloud.
"Welcome to Blackside?" she stared at Robin for an answer. He simply shrugged his shoulders.
"This definitely wasn't like this before Terra joined. Something's going on, and we're going to find out! Robin declared as he marched up to the front steps.
Beast Boy hastily followed and then Starfire and Cyborg marched slowly behind him.
Raven sighed, and walked just behind them. She had a bad feeling about this place, and knew that something wasn't right. Something bad was going to happen on this night.
Yah! End of chapter! Sorry I took a little while to update and that it is a little short, but I've been kind of busy lately. Please be sure to review! Thanks!
