A basement filled with boxes of charismas lights, Halloween decorations, ECT, ECT.
On a worktable lies a machine what looks like a piece of junk, above it hunched a figure dressed in black jeans, black duster, black boots, and a brown shirt (yes brown).
Sighing the figure utters the (in) famous line before flipping a switch on the small junk pile/ scientific creation.
"Who wants to live forever"?

The last first year had not even finished sitting down when an arch of lightning raced across the walls and ceiling, then another, and another. Within moments the hall was filed the grand hall was filled. With the crackle of elasticity and the smell of ozone emanating from meter across sphere just to the side, near left wall close the teachers table. As quickly as it began it ended. With a noiseless explosion of white a figure was thrown from the sphere against the wall the figures long coat shadowing its features as it slumped to the floor in a listless mass on the floor.
Ok I really need feed back on this I have a basic idea its going to be an SI I know that but as for the storyline its up in the air dark comedy to be sure but my character will have no magic just his American smarts to contend with as well as the side effect from the trip to Hogworts.
