Note: This story depicts a girl in love with another girl.
If you have a problem with that please evolve. If not, well it's just an angst filled, unrequited love story, with no real plot. (Revised from original)

Preamble: Ami has been coming over to study on nights her mother has work. It evolved into her spending the night on the couch so neither of them had to be alone.
Oblivion
Makoto stood with her hand resting on the door frame. Her tall figure was hidden by the shadows of night as she watched the still form on the futon. The minutes ticked by slowly as she kept her silent vigil, unable to tear her gaze away, to turn around and go back to her own bed. Her eyes traced the soft contour of the form beneath the blanket. How many nights had she laid awake in bed imagining those curves? How many nights had she begged sleep to take her from such thoughts into sweet oblivion? And now it just wasn't a thought she was desperately trying to save herself from. It was flesh and blood, in reach, just a few strides away. Her knuckles whitened as she clutched the door frame. 'The sweet torture of being near what you can never obtain.'
Time was unchecked as she stood watching over the senshi of ice, lost in thoughts of what would never be. Finally, sleep mercifully called her from her position and reality. Dreams came where she could brush the blue locks away from deep blue eyes and see love reflected in them. But it was only in her dreams. So Makoto spent another night alone in her bed as the vision of her love slept peacefully and unaware in the next room.
