Disclaimer: I don't own anything, not the song, and not the characters. The song is by LeAnn Rhymes. I hope you like the tiny bit of story. I just love this song!

Author's notes: Well, there's not much story here, at all. And there's not too much going on. It's pretty much just the song. But you find out for yourself. Tell me what you think...do I need to put more action in? Or is it fine, just the way it is?

She walked through the cemetery, and a song came back to her. She couldn't remember where she had heard it, or even the singer, but the melody seemed to haunt her, now that he no longer did.

I need you like water, like breath, like rain

I need you like mercy from heaven's gate

There's a freedom in your arms

That carries me through

I need you

But that wasn't the beginning of the song. She knew that, but she just couldn't remember. And then it came to her, just as the tears did.

(I don't need a lot of things

I can get by with nothing

Of all the blessings life can bring

I've always needed something

But I've got all I want when it comes to loving you)

(You're my only reason, you're my only truth

I need you like water, like breath, like rain

I need you like mercy from heaven's gate

There's a freedom in your arms

That carries me through

I need you (oh, yes I do))

(You're the hope that moves me to courage again

You're the love that rescues me

When the cold winds rage

And it's so amazing

Cause that's just how you are

And I can't turn back now

Cause you've brought me too far)

(I need you like water, like breath, like rain

I need you like mercy from heaven's gate

There's a freedom in your arms

That carries me through

I need you (oh, yes I do))

(I need you like water, like breath, like rain

I need you like mercy from heaven's gate

There's a freedom in your arms

That carries me through

I need you (oh, yes I do))

(I need you

I need you)

As she walked through the cemetery, looking, ever looking, to get into the fight for her life, she sang the song that said what she couldn't.

"I need you like water, like breath, like rain

I need you like mercy from heaven's gate

There's a freedom in your arms

That carries me through

I need you"
