One Rainy Day

A free-verse poem by Noname the Weird

A/N: Wow... It's been more than a year since I've posted anything up on this site. Scary. Well, this is a poem that I wrote because I felt like writing poetry for once. The character that the POV is written in is anyone's good guess: just create whatever original character you like. Lastly, I know there is a lack of capitalization, quotation marks, and possibly comprehension. I did it on purpose. So on to the poem now...

Disclaimer: Wilt, Foster's, and even Malph's and Seared are all of Craig McCracken's creations. Yes, I lack much creativity...

once

i stood

at the bus stop

next to malph's

in the rain

blue umbrella

over my head

waitin' for

the next bus when

this guy came

couldn't be real

was too tall

had wet, red fur

cut open everywhere

left arm was missing

and had a

googly eye

looked like

a walking,

beaten doll

he was

an imaginary friend,

alright

i looked up

at his face

he noticed me

and looked away

quickly

with embarrassment

he was probably

recently abandoned

i told him

don't to be shy

then i noticed

he didn't have

an umbrella

poor thing

was soaked

i asked him

are you taking the bus?

shook his head

and replied

i don't have the money

thought about that

then i decided

to hand him

my umbrella

he looked at me

with surprise

and said

i'm sorry, but

i can't take that

i ask

why not?

his reply:

well, what if

you get wet?

i laughed

and said

i don't care

if i get wet

my skin's

waterproof

but your's...

isn't

the bus was visible

warily,

tall guy took

my umbrella

and said

are you sure

about this?

i said

mm-yep

by the way

ever heard of

foster's?

he frowned

he did not

i said

it's down the street

from seared

on 49th

go there

you'll like it

he said

thanks

i'll be sure to

check it out

i asked him

for his name

it was wilt

i gave him

my name

as well

the bus arrived

and i boarded it

and watched

wilt waving bye

with a big grin

on his face

i wonder

what would mom say

when i tell her

i gave her

most expensive umbrella

to some

nonexistent stranger
