Hi people! I wrote another chapter! Hope you like it as much as I enjoyed writing it!
CHAPTER 3 WAR GAMESIt has now been 6 months since josh left home for Boot. Since then he has made many friends. Are story continues on a ship bound for England. Lets Begin!
As Josh walks through the sea of bunks stacked one on top of the other, he hears the usual rumors that Hitler is planning to invade the US, that there are spies on the ship, and all the other usual babble. As he reaches his bunk Alex leans over the top and says, "Hey josh, what's up"? "You mean besides tons and tons of steel and bunks that almost rival the empire state building"? Everybody who was listening laughs. No you stupid idiot, says Alex, I mean how's it going? Cool. I saw Col. Mat a little while ago and asked him what are we going to do when we get to England, and he says were going to start off with some basic training and then some War games. Cool! Said Steve who was listening. Ya I love playing war games. Col. Mat says there supposed to sharpen our skills in combat. All I'm interested in sharpening is my banet, said Buck who was also listening. Everybody laughed.
All right men listen up! Said Col. Mat You will all take a room in an English home. They are volunteering for this services so remember we are all guests in there houses. We will now announce who is rooming with who, and where. He began to read off the names. Alex, Steve, Buck, John, and myself are all staying in the same house. The lady who owned the house was very nice and in her mid 30's. Her husband is a pilot in the Royal Air Force. And she says she's doing anything she can for the war effort. Her Dog, who is a German Shepard, had puppies 9 months ago and she gave one to me. Col. Mat said I could keep it for "tactical" reasons. We decided to call him Gunny. Gunny became an instant celebrity. Later that week gunny was sent away to be trained in combat. He came back a month later bigger and more cautious, and alert.
Later that week we started training in more realistic combat. Were where dropped into a field 5 miles north of our base. Gunny strapped to me in a harness on my chest. We moved out and headed to our rally point. Our objective is to capture an opposing team member. And get him back to our battalion command post. We moved out and headed northeast. Gunny and I toke point. We crossed roads, and met up with a referee, finely we reached a small group of hills, one in the middle with what looked to be and entrenched command post. We moved out around the hills, while AJ and Tom covered us from the rear with the machinegun. We came to another trench. We went prone and moved to the far right of the trench. Gunny, Alex, and me jumped in the trench while the rest of the company covered us. We moved silently though it until we came upon a solider sleeping, we tied him up with out struggle from him and moved back to the company. We retraced our steps to AJ and Tom and moved out. The referee who had been following us was telling us what a good job we did when Steve stepped on a toy mine. It popped up out of the ground and emitted and booms, but didn't do any damage. The referee told us to leave 2 men wounded on the ground, and move on. We left Steve and AJ who were nearest to the mine and moved on to battalion HQ. We received full marks for our skill in combat and stealth. The referee's pronounced us battle ready. It had been a very good day. We were on a truck bound for some town near Dover; we had left the town we were staying in earlier this morning, when we heard a Propeller plane coming from somewhere. I turned around and saw a German plane heading right for us. Leading its machinegun bullets toward our truck!
Well that's the end of chapter 3! Hope you enjoyed it! Keep a lookout for the next chapter.
