The wind whipped his face, taking him by surprise and making him feel unbearably cold as the one thought continued to race through Seamus Finnigan's mind. This is crazy.

Sure it was, but it went well with the person he was expecting to be there. For the longest time he'd watched her from afar, admiring the way she was because it was who he could never be himself. Finally he'd forced himself to ask her out, not in public. Not yet anyway.

Seamus shivered and wished that he'd brought a jacket, but a flashlight as well. The dark hugged him tight and allowed him to see very little of the forest surrounding him. Leaves crackled in the distance and he jumped.

Stop being such a fraidy cat and just call out her name. He thought, but another thought prevented him from actually doing it. What if there's something out there and it's coming to get me and it already got her? Of course, that was logical. There were things in the Forbidden Forest that gave Seamus the willies just thinking about them.

"Seamus..." A voice called from somewhere in the distance and he spun around, looking for the body to match the voice. Hadn't his mam warned him about creatures of the night and what they did to little boys who were bad?

You're losing it. Just remember that once you find her, everything will be better. Seamus told himself, getting the terror-ridden thoughts out of his mind. He felt a little better when he saw a flash of that tilted smile in his mind.

He walked for a few more minutes until he came to a clearing where the moonlight filtered in and he gasped at the radiant girl who seemed to be basking in it. He stepped on a twig, causing it to crack and her to look at him.

Luna Lovegood was sitting on the ground in the Forbidden Forest in her pajamas and smiling broadly at Seamus.

Her long and usually unkempt dirty blond hair was swept back in messy bun, and Seamus had clear view of her pale blue eyes. Instead of the usual tornado of crazy that was always there, they held determination and- was that a bit of admiration? He took a longer look and saw it was.

"What took you so long?" She asked, as though she'd been waiting there for a good hour.

"Uhm, trouble getting out of the dorm. You know, the guys wanted to know were I was going so I gave them some excuse about a pretty girl in the forest." Seamus lied, not wanting to admit that he'd been extremely nervous about being alone with her and that the forest scared him, a lot.

"Oh, okay. I was thinking about going to find you, but I got distracted by what I thought was a nargle, but then I remembered they only live in mistletoe." Luna said dreamily and then shrugging.

"Yeah? A nargle?" Seamus asked looking wearily over his shoulder as he sat next to her. Luna nodded.

"You know Seamus, if you were scared about coming in here then you should've said something." Luna said.

"I wasn't scared!" Seamus defended.

"Yes you were because you wandered around the clearing in circles and I could see you the whole time." She replied with a loud laugh.
