Lament for Innocence
Weep for the day, til the day fades to night.
For weeping is thine on the earth and in flight.
Begat by blood, by blood sustained.
Solitary sorrow is eternal disdain.
Alone in the crypt, alone in the world.
Fearing to walk on a dark path unfurled.
Thy life not lived, but mourned instead.
Not by all others but thyself the dead.
Feeding on terror, in terror was borne.
Torn from a destiny, continue forlorn.
I'll hear your cry, but I'll not feel it's pain.
Each night your soul screams, it is earthbound again.
Yet in darkness sleeps hope, where no light is dispersed.
That someday thy soul will be free of this curse!
