He chose her because she was a Hyuga.
She chose him because she had nothing else.
There were no hearts or candy, flowers or hugs, passionate words or loving glances. It was purely convenience, but they could have done worse. He could have chosen one of the loud fan girls; she was quiet and wouldn't question him. She didn't get the one she loved, but she could have gotten someone who was truly worse than him; someone who was cruel and tore her already wavering self-esteem further down. So when they kissed, they only did so because it seemed like something they were suppose to, and when they had sex it was only because he wanted to use what his purpose of her was for.
They rarely spoke, an occasional good-bye from her and a grunt from him. At times she would ask what he wanted for dinner and he would simply reply it didn't matter. She would stay away from the house as long as she could to avoid him, and he would stay away because of training.
When he went away from missions she didn't cry, she rejoiced, later feeling horrible for such feelings. When he went away from missions, he didn't care either way. He has nothing to look foreword to. Slowly though, her kindness and determination would come out to impress him and his subtle smile he would give only her made her heart flutter in a way she hadn't felt in long time.
Their kisses would be because they wanted to, not because it seemed like they had too. The sex would have feeling in it, because they both wanted it, not because just he wanted. They still spoke rarely but because no words were needed. He now chose her not because she was a Hyuga, but because she was her, and she now chose him not because she had nothing else, but because he was everything to her. She would come home to see him as soon as possible and his training was cut short for her. When he went away on missions she still didn't cry, but she didn't rejoice either, instead she hoped he was alright and wished he would come back soon. When he went on missions, he now cared about his life with something to look foreword to and attempted to make it go by faster. Still there would be no hearts or candy, flowers or hugs, but the passionate words and loving glances would be there.
That would be enough.
