Dumbledore's Army Reinstated

Even though they had nearly failed the year before to keep themselves alive when they'd come face to face against a crew of Voldemort's newly collected crowd of dementers, they had not given up on the hope that the lessons Harry was giving them would come in handy.

Even after Dumbledore had gone into hiding at the end of their fifth year, they had not ceased the secretive gatherings of Dumbledore's Army.

Year six dawned bright and happy, except for mutterings under their breaths of the return of the "Dark Lord." Everyone had become paranoid in the wizarding world. News of Sirius's death had not yet penetrated the muggle news reports, and Harry had waited eagerly for news that never came.

He looked softly into the mirror. Why would Sirius not show up? He had said, if he ever needed to reach him. Why wasn't he answering? Flinging it back onto his bedside table, he pushed open the curtains around his bed and rose silently. It was time for breakfast. He looked over at Ron's bed...empty. He'd already gone down no doubt, to meet up with Hermione.

As Harry walked into the main hall for breakfast, Hermione and Ron looked up at him, closely followed by Neville, Seamus, Angelina, Cho..half a dozen other students all eagerly looked at him. He looked at them wide eyed "What?!" he asked, alarmedly.

"Well, Uh, Harry" spoke Cho, who stepped forward to talk to him "We were all wondering..since you know who is still at large...uh..would you still be willing to teach us supplementary Defense against the Dark Arts?"

Harry stopped, dumbfounded. This was the last thing he expected. He thought about it for a moment, but couldn't find a reason to say no. "Er..yeah, I guess so." Amid the applause, Hary looked up at the staff table. McGonagall was the only professor present, and her head had been bent over her breakfast until the loud round of noise errupted from the Gryffindor table.

She rose and walked over to them, a look of frustration and surprise on her face as she asked "Well, what's going on over here?"

Harry looked up at her, only a little shorter than the aging professor, and shook his head "Nothing professor, just..we're all excited about the Hogsmeade trip this weekend is all."

McGonagall raised her eyebrow, and looked around at the gathered students. It was obvious by her look that she didn't believe him. "Well, you best keep it down. The bell for classes will be ringing soon.

She walked away with a small glance back at them before she reached the staff table. Once she returned to eating her food the group once again took up their planning of when to hold the gatherings, and how to keep it private.
