Willow apprehensively approached the first official looking person she spotted upon entering the large office building belonging to Wolfram & Hart. "Um, excuse me, but could you possibly tell me how to get to the Science Wing?"
"Why don't I show you?"
The redhead turned around to see Fred entering through the doors she had just come in through. She waved enthusiastically before turning back to the man she had just asked for directions. "Sorry to bother you," she apologised.
"No harm done," the well-dressed man shrugged. "Good afternoon, Ms. Burkle," he greeted Fred before turning his attention back to the file folder he was carrying.
Willow suppressed a giggle until she and Fred were out of the man's earshot and on the way to the elevator. "Does everyone around here call you that? Ms. Burkle, it sounds so formal."
"Just everyone outside the science department." Fred pushed the down button with one hand, while grabbing hold of Willow's hand with the other. She squeezed it gently. "Have I told you how much it means to me that you could come here today?"
"Only a few million times on the phone." The witch grinned. "I hope you appreciate all the work I had to go through to get the information you wanted. It's all very confusing. I even had to call Giles. It was embarrassing."
The elevator doors opened and the women stepped in. Pushing the button fast to make the door close, Fred suddenly kissed Willow. The redhead kissed back fervently and almost dropped her bag when she reached to grab her girlfriend's waist. Pulling her closer, their tongues fought for dominance as Willow's back was pressed against the cold metal of the elevator's walls.
"I'll make it worth your while," Fred whispered into her ear, after breaking the kiss.
Willow couldn't even manage words, just nodding like a fool.
Hearing the elevator click as it reached their floor, the scientist reached to wipe a trace of lipstick off Willow's cheek. "Ready to do battle with some nefarious evil henchman?"
"I've survived apocalypses. I think I can survive this."
"I wouldn't be too sure about that," Fred laughed as the doors opened. Grabbing Willow's hand again, she led her down a corridor to a large staff room. Some of her coworkers were already there with their supplies spread out onto the table. Knox smiled as they entered the room. Extending his hand to Willow, he introduced himself. "Hi, I'm Knox. You must be Ms. Rosenberg."
"Most people call me Willow." She shook his hand then laid her bag onto the table. "You promise to be gentle with me? I'm a virgin." A few of the men snickered, and Willow blushed red, realising what she had said.
Fred laughed. "Don't worry, the boys will be gentle. We were all Dungeons & Dragons virgins at one point in our lives."
