Willow sounded dejected. They had done everything right. She didn't know why the spell didn't work.

But Tara knew. The powder she had tossed so carelessly away told the whole story. She looked down before speaking, refusing to look Willow in the eye -- playing on her innocent image to conceal the truth. "L-l-like I said, we weren't r-r-ready for this."

"But I -- I've done easier spells than this! This should have worked!"

"M-Maybe you're just a bit off t-today, Willow."
