Enola Gray
And in other news.........
The search for Enola Gray has still continued to be fruitless, despite countless insistence of the Ministry that they have things under control.
Recent findings have shown that there is still a marked absence of the rogue killer Enola Gray, contrary to the repeated words of reassurance by the Ministry. Mr. Treize Khushrenada himself as the head of the Ministry has been quoted saying just last week during a briefly held press conference that "they were getting close".
Confident that they could capture the rogue vampire better known as Enola Gray, it was a hard blow to the integrity of the Ministry when the hideout they had been staking, based on a "reliable" informant has proven to be just a false alarm. Luckily though, there had been no casualties in the elite team of hunters.
In light of this recent foul-up, the killings have reached an all-new high just two days ago, passing even the original estimate of victims 6 years past. The Purists, who are known about their staunch claim that all beings are equal and deserve equal treatment, regardless of them being vampires, have stated when asked about this incidence:
"They are merely retaliating against the slight done to them by their fellow beings. We have said again and again that hunting beings just as intelligent and aware as most humans are, like some wild animal to be exterminated, is not the best course of action. And this is proof of that. They are hurting, and they want people to experience the same hurt. You cannot really fault them for their method of action. Humans would have done the same to each other. Should say one slap them, what else could the recipient do but slap the instigator? This is merely human behavior, and the fact that vampires exhibit such is probably the greatest proof of their humanity. So I seek once again for the compassionate and humane side of all of us. Stop this killing. They only hurt us if we hurt them first. If only we had peaceful talks with them, then things could be solved without bloodshed. Our races would finally have peace."
Regardless of this optimistic view of the Purists, the Ministry has encouraged civilians to take the necessary precautions, so as to avoid further incidences. For further safety, the authorities have changed the curfew from 10:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Any stragglers caught outside their homes at 6:00 pm onwards would face warnings. However, for repetitive offenders, they would most likely get not only a 1,000 credit fine, but a night spent in prison as well.
And this is all for the 10:00 am headlines. This is Sandra Parsons, for The Daily Edition. Good day.
A derisive snort was all that was heard, as the vid set turned dark. Tossing the remote on the tabletop, a young man rose form his comfortable perch on the couch, and summarily picked up a battered black cap from the side table before exiting and locking the door behind him.
No one noticed the young man, clad in all black regardless of the hot atmosphere of summer, as he walked away from the quiet neighborhood that situated his own home. Afterall, most of the people living there were either hiding from the sun's scorching rays, or were out finding their earnings on the busy metropolitan he was headed for.
And it was just so, that it was only the rustling wind that heard the young man speak.
"I'll get you Enola Gray. Even if it's the last thing I do."
