One dark, damp morning in the Kokiri Forest, before anyone else had awoken, the music of an ocarina floated throughout the lost woods. A song of adventure, joy and freedom was being played by a young Kokiri named Kai. He made the song off of his dreams. To adventure across the land of Hyrule just like his hero, Link, was his dream. But a dream was all it was. Kokiri's can't leave the Kokiri forest and if they do, they die. At least that's what the legend said. Just as Kai finished he heard a small voice from behind him. He turned around to see his fairy, Midori, looking at him.
"So this is where you've been Kai. I've been looking all over the kokiri forest for you! You know I worry when you wander off! I thought you tried to leave the forest AGAIN!"
Midori said, obviously worried as always. Several times before Kai had tried to leave the Kokiri forest but something always went wrong and he got caught or someone needed him and he had to go back.
"I always come here, you know that" Kai said matter-of-factly.
"You know you shouldn't be here", Midori said while nervously looking around," the Skull Kids will get you one day!"
"Who cares, Link could fight them then so can I, now lets go get Eko and Ryo" Kai said getting up and walking off, Midori right beside him. Eko is Kai's best friend, and only, friend in the Kokiri forest (that is if you don't count Midori). Ryo was his fairy When Kai and Midori emerged from the Lost Woods no one was awake yet. "Let's go wake Eko and Ryo up" Kai suggested and ran off to Eko's house. Midori rolled her eyes and flew after Kai
