Hello to all the people who have taken the time out of the busy schedule (or not) to check out my story. This is the first story I have felt even remotely worthy of posting. The pairing are a little altered. I'm open to criticism so please review.
I don't own Inuyasha or any of Rumiko Takahashi's characters, but this concept is all mine.
I hope you guys can live without indentation.

Prologue: Monster
He was the only father I'd ever know.
My mom told me my biological father left when he found out she was pregnant. She said she met him a month later. Said it was love at first sight. She told me all about how her romanced her and made her feel so wanted, something she desperately needed after my father left her. She said she never suspected he'd turn out to be who he was now.
"He was a little possessive, but I just wrote if off as jealousy. So when he proposed to me, three months after you were born, I just couldn't say no." That's what she told me when I asked her why she married him.
She didn't know he was a monster. She chastened me when I said that "Now now Kagome," she started "he's you father. You shouldn't speak ill of him."
Kagura always called him that. A monster. She said that's what her mother called him, and that's exactly what he was. But she knows better now than to say that to him. She learned the hard way. We all did. And we always do.
Don't get me wrong, Naraku was nice sometimes, when we wasn't angry.
But that isn't a lot.

My mother left him when she found out she was pregnant with Kanna. She snuck out in the middle of the night when he was passed out drunk on the sofa. He likes to remind me of how she didn't even think twice of taking me with her.
He married Michiru when I was three. She told me they had the shortest engagement ever. "Two days, that was it. We got married in the court house."
I told her once when I was eight, after she got pregnant with Souta, that she should leave him. She cried and hugged me for a long time. A couple of years later, after everything got worse, I asked her why she didn't just leave him. She held me close and whispered into my ear "Because I can't take you with me."
I learned not long after that, that she had wanted to adopt me. Legally make me her daughter, but Naraku wouldn't let her. Because as long as he had me, she wouldn't go anywhere. If she attempted to take me with her without his consent it'd be kidnapping, and she'd go to jail. And that would leave all three of us at his mercy with no one to protect us. And the lord knows he has no mercy. And he knew she wouldn't leave without me. So she was stuck.
She told me that I was her daughter, and there was no way she was ever going to leave one of her children behind.
He truly was a monster
