A cold breeze swept over the trees of the Forbidden Forest, blowing the snowflakes in swirls around a sixteen-year-old girl, sitting alone by the lake. Her brown hair blew around her face softly, as she stared across the frozen water.

She was deep in thought, thinking about her family, her friends, and especially her best friend, Harry Potter. She knew she was the only one who knew everything he thought, every dream he has, and almost everything about him.

She was worried about him though; he seemed so distant these days, constantly staring off into space, ignoring all of Ron's attempts at making him laugh. He rarely spoke to anyone at all. Everyone eventually stopped trying to get through to him-everyone, except her of course. She would bother him nonstop until he finally started to respond.

As she sat, lost in her thoughts, she didn't realize she had a visitor. Harry stood a few yards back from her watching her quietly, so as not to disturb his friend. After standing in silence for what seemed like hours, he spoke.

"Been wondering where you were. You disappeared after dinner. I've been worried." He said this in a calm, quiet voice, as if not wanting to disrupt the peace. She did not turn, but instead motioned with her hand for him to sit down with her. He did, and, after she made sure he was listening, she asked, in a low voice," Why aren't you with Ron? I'm sure he's much more interesting than I am." He glanced at her, and taking her hand slowly, he said," Sure he's funny, but only so many times can you hear about the 'ingenious' prank he played on Fred and George. I'd much rather sit with you."

She smiled at him, and his stomach flipped at the sight. "That's one thing I love about you, Hermione." She gave him a confused look. He chuckled slightly. "You're smile. I always thought that your smile was one of the most beautiful things about you." She blushed and mumbled something about not being pretty.

"But you are! Everything about you is beautiful!" he exclaimed. She looked at the ground, tears in her eyes. Harry's heart broke. He hated it when she cried. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders, which were covered in a soft blanket of snow from being out so long. He felt her shiver.

"We should probably head in, " he mumbled into her hair. She nodded and went to stand up. He followed suit, but he slipped and went for her shoulder and they both tumbled to the ground, Harry on top.

They lay there for a moment, staring at each other then, slowly Harry kissed her softly. They stayed like that for a few minutes then slowly pulled apart. They stared at each other and then kissed again, this longer than before. After they moved apart, they smiled and left for the castle, holding hands the whole way.

I know its bad but don't be too hard on me please! R/r please! I'm open to suggestions.
