This fic was not actually written by Hyper-chan. This was written by Hyper-chan's infamous big sister Susan (Rampant Sarcasm to the Yu-Gi-Oh fans amoungst you), who is too mortified by the fact that she's writing a POKÉMON fic to put it on her own account.

That, and the fact that Hyper was already logged in. :P

Please note, this is one of those infamous fics that doesn't actually have the shows main characters in. Apologies. I am trying to write a slightly different fic to what the Pokémon cast would let me do.

If Hyper-chan realises that it's ME who wrote this, I doubt I'll be writing anything for a while peeps...

Pokémon: Life On The Run

Prologue: Silent Witness

"Play that again," she ordered, her cold clipped voice ringing through the dark room. The only illumination came from the television, and the blinding whirl of characters that screamed across it. The grey haired matriach watched impassively, although her hands tightened slightly in her lap.

Finally, the dizzying whirl stopped, and the screen showed a Pokémon battle show. It was last week's episode, but that didn't matter. The match didn't matter either, nor the trainers. The sound was off for that very reason.

As she watched, the trainer of a Gyrados was ordering it to use a Hyper Beam, as was the trainer of a Golbat. The two Pokémon strained against each other, the water Pokémon braced against the floor of the pool, it's bat-like opponent straining to hold itself steady. As she watched, the Gyrado's beam grew tighter, more focused, and the Golbat was forced back inch by inch. It tried, though, flapping harder to move forwards. And that was it's downfall.

The two Pokémon were leaning into each other, and the Golbat's slight movement sent the two beam sliding off each other, and crashing away from their intended targets.

The Gyrados was luckier. It had been aiming into the air, so the blinding beam of light carried on straight up into the sky. However, the Golbat had been aiming down, so when it lost control, it's attack smashed through the trainer's stands. The Golbat's trainer dived clear, but their opponent wasn't as lucky.

The dark haired girl stumbled as the bottom of her stand disintegrated, shards of metal and wood flying up around her as she stumbled back.

"Frame by frame," she ordered tersely. And there it was, in glorious slowness, a tall boy with long green hair appearing with an Alakazam, the boy wrapping his arms around the girl and then teleporting away.

During the whole thing, he didn't look at the camera once, but that didn't matter. The boy was easily recognisable. "We've found him," she purred. "Finally..."

The man with the remote shivered uncontrollably.

So... Next chapter, enter the Pokémon trainers. You'll see, IT WILL GET BETTER!!

(I can't believe I couldn't find the page with the Pokémon fics-list on. Why didn't I realise it would be under games?)
