Disclaimer: I do not own Princess
Diaries, as characters belong to Meg Cabot, and the storyline to Disney and
their writers. All is written for pure entertainment and glee, so don't
pounce any lawyers, because I won't have the money to pay anyway.
Author's Notes: Okay, I admit – I like both MMMT and NDMT, but I prefer
NDMT. hides from all MMMT fans I did consider having Mia falling in love with
Michael after she finishes the letter, but, nah. I
prefer Nicholas to Michael in the movies. ;) Enjoy this short one!
The letter had came unannounced one day. It was clad with a simple white envelope, with the address of the palace and her name, simply as Mia.
But all she needed was one glance and she knew who scribbled those words on the envelope and of course, subsequently, who wrote the letter – Simply said, he was the one who saw her in high school, or maybe even before that – when she was invisible.
She picked up the letter, a cynical smile on her face. As she tore the envelope, she thought back on how it was like to be 15 again.
Dear Mia
Hi. It's me, Michael, in case you couldn't recognize my handwriting anymore. It's been a long time since I've last contacted you. My band and I are still touring the States (We're at Hawaii for 2 more days before setting off for Wyoming) and don't worry, I won't forget the promise that Genovia will be the first European country we tour when we go there some time soon.
So, how is Genovia? I suppose all is great, now that you're the Queen and all. I haven't really had time to keep up with current affairs – or should I say, foreign affairs? – and my sincerest apologies for that.
I'm glad that we parted on amicable terms… I've got to say, I'm still not very comfortable with the reporters behind me whenever I get out of the house. Just the other day, there was this girl who was in my apartment. Scared the daylights out of me, but that's the downside in the industry, I suppose.
Lilly told me all about your bizarre situation a while back. I suppose all has turned out well. Say congratulations for Nicholas (or is it? Lilly continued this particular conversation with me, rambling on about a certain Captain Kip Kelly or something). He certainly is one lucky guy and many like us ought to be jealous (except that, of all people, I'm certainly not supposed to be)
In case you were wondering, I've met this wonderful girl back at Columbia. Her name's Chloe, and I'm thinking of proposing to her. Any brilliant ideas on how to?
While we're at that, I just want to tell you that deep in my heart, there will always be a part of me that loves you.
You have my blessings forever. Good luck for everything, and if you're free, give me a ring. I haven't changed my number.
Love,
Michael M.
The cynical smile on Mia's face stretched into a wide grin, and she walked out of the room, her cellphone in hand; and of course, waiting to start a new day with Nicholas.
FIN.
