THE POWER OF A WISH
Chapter 4: Explanation time
*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*
"Yami! Yami! Please wake up! Come on Yami. Please wake up" Yugi begged the unconscious Yami, shaking him desperately, but without success. Tears were streaming down the hikari's face and he made no move to stop them. It wasn't fair that he was about to loose his yami after a few hours again. Faith couldn't be that cruel!
The spirit was lying on the ground, face on the ground. His clothes were stained in blood and more of the vivid liquid was streaming out of his body.
Joey was the first to react. He turned the spirit carefully on his back and checked for a pulse. The teen let the breath he was holding out, when he found one. It was slow, but there nonetheless. Joey examined with Tristan's help Yami's wounds, but they decided that they it was for the best to bring him to a hospital. Tea stood beside Yugi, being for once helpful, and tried to calm the shivering youth.
"No, we can't, Joey. Please think of something else" the tri-coloured boy asked his best friend.
"Why Yugi. He is hurt badly. He seriously needs help" the blonde-haired answered, trying to convince the teen about the seriousness in this matter.
"I ... I explain later. Please help him" Yugi looked at his friends with pleading eyes.
Joey gave in. "Ok. We bring him to the game shop. It isn't too far from here. Come on Tristan, help me to carry him."
With much effort Tristan and Joey lifted the spirit from the ground and headed in the direction of the game shop, being very careful as not to cause Yami more pain than necessary. Yugi was walking beside them, not leaving Yami out of his eyes, holding his hand to show the darkness, that he was here for him. Tea wished them luck and left to go home, saying something about 'Have to go home or my parents will be angry'
*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*
At the game shop they put Yami on the couch in the living room. Yugi stayed at Yami's side while Joey and Tristan were collecting things to treat the wounds. Yugi kept talking to his darkness, telling him to hold on and not give up, caressing Yami's hands and face.
Sugoroku Mutou, Yugi's grandfather chose this moment to come home. He practically fell over in shock when he came to the living room. His grandson's face was tear-strained and Joey and Tristan were trying desperately bandaging a hurt stranger, who looked remarkably like Yugi. Well it wouldn't work how they were doing it! If you want to make something right, you have to do it yourself!
The small group only noticed their extra audience when grandpa pushed them aside and bandaged the young man himself. Yugi sighed in relief, when he saw his grandfather, knowing that he has a lot of experience with injuries. The dangerous digs were at least good for something!
Sugoroku has trouble to stop the wounds from bleeding. The badly injured teen's face lost its colour and was turning white; showing jiichan that he already lost too much blood.
Yugi and his friends were sitting beside the old man, helping him when he needed an extra hand.
No one could tell how long it took Yugi's grandfather to bandage all the wounds, but Sugoroku was optimistic that Yami was going to make it, after he checked the man's pulse for a last time. Telling the other's about the news, he was glomped by a very happy Yugi.
"There there, Yugi! Calm down, he is going to make it." Receiving a sniff as an answer from his grandson he continued.
"Yugi. Do you even know who this is?"
"That's Yami, grandpa."
"Well, that much we know too. But you still own us an explanation Yugi" Tristan stated.
"You guys will probably think I'm insane, but ... ahem ... Yami is the spirit from the puzzle ..." Yugi began and was interrupted by Joey, who was laughing so hard that tears were streaming down his face.
"Good joke, Yug'. But now be serious. WHO is Yami"
"As I said. Yami is the spirit from the puzzle."
"You mean the puzzle I gave you? You finished it already?" Jiichan asked his grandson disbelievingly.
"Yes, jiichan. Can I continue please?" So Yugi told them the whole story about the golden puzzle and how Yami turned up when he solved it. He explained them the hikari-yami connection and how Yami rescued them from an attack.
Joey and Tristan were looking at each other. They both thought their friend went mad, but Sugoroku seemed in deep thought. Yugi sighed, knowing that his friends didn't believe a word he said. The hikari watched his grandfather expectantly.
"I believe you Yugi" he stated.
"Grandpa. Are you nuts? How can you believe this story?" Joey asked surprised.
"Simple Joey. My friend Arthur, who gave me the puzzle, told me about an old legend ..." he answered.
"What does it say" Yugi asked, getting curious. Was it faith, that he met the spirit?
"The person, who is able to put the puzzle together, will be granted a wish. That's all I can remember" The hikari nodded, letting this thought run through his head.
"I don't know about you, but I don't believe a word. Do you have any proof that this is the truth" Joey told them.
The puzzle decided to answer the question itself as Yami's puzzle began to glow softly, catching the attention of the people in the room.
The light was forming a shield around he injured spirit. Yugi was about to touch it, but a pain in his hand prevented him to do so. It felt as if electricity was running through your body. The light was getting brighter and brighter until they couldn't see the man, lying on the couch, anymore. Sugoroku and Yugi's friends were watching in awe, but the hikari slightly panicked, anxious about the spirit's safety.
Fortunately it disappeared as fast as it appeared.
The red-eyed man blinked a few times, adjusting his eyes to the bright light in the room. He sat up slowly, holding his head. Damn, his head was hurting.
Before he was sitting straight, he was lying again on the couch, straddled by a smaller creature.
"You're ok. You're really ok. Thank god. I'm so glad. You can't imagine how afraid I was ..." the boy on top of him muttered, his voice soft as he pressed his face at the spirit's chest, nuzzling him happily.
Yami encircled his arms around his hikari and pulled him into a warm embrace, his memories slowly catching up with him. The older of the two petted Yugi's hair and whispered nonsense in the boy's ear to calm him down.
After a few minutes the crying was reduced to sniffling, but he refused stubbornly to loosen his death grip on Yami (who wouldn't?), cuddling into the warm body under him even more. (*taking pictures*)
"Ahem" a voice tried to catch the yami's and the hikari's attention, who where too wrapped up in each other. Yugi looked at his grandfather annoyed, while Yami turned a deep shade of read, now fully comprehending the position they two were in. Luckily the blush wasn't as much visible on his tanned checks. Yugi looked confused at Yami then back and his grandfather and friends. Jiichan muttered 'To innocent for his own good', but Yugi wasn't able to catch it and he didn't care. His yami was ok and nothing else mattered. His yami was ok.
The hikari decided that it was a long and hard day. So he made himself even more comfortable on his 'nice bed' drifting off to sleep only moments later.
*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*+~*
Wasn't that sweet. Hehe to be innocent has his advantages. Hope you liked it! PLEASE R & R!!!! Thanks for 15 great reviews!
Fluff in the next chapter. I already typed half of it. It should be out on Sunday! It seemed that I move my lazy butt when I'm busy.
Your reviews were really nice and I decided I wouldn't let you wait until Sunday!
NOTE: Some of you think that the mysterious attacker is Marik/Malik. Well, you have to read to find out ... I won't tell!! ^o^
You may wonder, why the puzzle didn't heal Yami before. Probably you remember, that he had to use his magic against the attacker for the first time since 'who know when'. Yami gets most of his power from the puzzle, so after the attack the puzzle has to regain it's strange. And after that it was able to save the spirit!
NEW FIC: I think about a new fic, but I need help. I can't think of a name for a radio programme, that is helping people with their problems, especially with love. Besides I also need a nickname for a presenter. (is this how you call it? Radio programme and presenter – my dictionary says so? O-O)
Or I make the character an famous actor playing in a show?! HELP!!!!!
It'sHardToBelieve: Well, same here. But I think I hate Tea because of the many bashing fics I read. Thank you for the review!
soultaker208: I hope it was soon enough
shadow-demon18b: I told you so. I'm so glad you liked it! You wouldn't have guessed that Sugoroku helped Yami! Am I right? But of course Yugi was important too! He had to give Yami mental-strength after all!!! Thanks!
Cherazz22784: I know the end was mean, but I have to make sure that people come back and read!! ^.~ Yeah! Yami is so strong *droll*
jkateel: Thanks for the review. Languages are important in Austria. I have learned English for 10 years and French for 5 years. But now children start to learn English when they are 6! Can you believe that? Thanks for reviewing
Rikainiel: See he is better now!! I couldn't stand to see him hurt ... too badly. You don't have to apologize, because my reviews aren't longer too!
hAdOwCat: Really? Your absolute favourite fic? *does happy dance* Thanks for the nice review. Hope you liked this chapter too!!
Miami-chan: Thanks again for the review
Spiritual Winds: Sorry to hear that. And a big thank you for taking the time to review!!
Sarah Harvey: Thank you for the compliment. I made Yami better so you, Yugi and the other readers don't have to worry anymore!
Molly-chan the Anime/Game fan: Hehe your Yami is as sarcastic as mine! ^.^ I have to agree: Friendship is one of the most important things! Well, I think I dislike her because of the many, many Tea bashing fics I read. But I promise if I ever will write my fic 'Depression' she will play an important (no-bashing) role! Ah, and please don't let Yami and Yugi suffer (too much)– I need them after all ^.~
Saakura: My spring break is in 1 week – I can't wait – but I also have to learn for my exams! -.- Thank you so much for the review!!!
Koishii no Tenshi: Thanks for telling me what you think about Mai and Ryou!!! You're the only so far -.-
Silentia: PC-Verbot?
Sakura Samurai: Thanks for the email and for voting. It will take me a while until I start another story and I have already a new idea. I'll put it on my account hopefully soon. A viruses and worms! I hate them!!! One time I had 4.500 on my Laptop. It was horrible but luckily I was able to save all my stuff in time! I can't wait to read more of you fic!
