Chapter 9: Starting over

"Time to wake up, hikari" a deep voice commanded gently. 'How could I refuse? After what had happened yesterday?' the other thought dreamily. A stupid grin was one the teen's face as he watched his older look-alike, who returned it with a puzzled one.
//What are you thinking about, aibou?//
With this one statement the darker half expelled the last bit of doubt from the light one's mind. It wasn't only that the mind-link was working, the ultimate proof of trust, no, he also called him aibou, Yugi's new cherished nickname. The hikari beamed and hugged the older vision of him. *?* was Yami's reaction. He wasn't used to receive so much affection. At least not from his light.
/Nothing. I'm just glad we're not mad at each other./
//Of course. We agreed that we start over//
/*sigh* I know, but we still need to talk about .../
Yami interrupted his hikari //No, I don't think it is that easy. Trust isn't one thing you gain from one day to another. We should take this slow and speak about it when we are both ready//
"If you think so, Yami" he wasn't thrilled about the idea, that Yami won't tell him about the encounter with Ishizu, but he was willing to wait.
"Yes hikari, now hurry or we'll be late" he told him.

Yami was pissed. Not that's not right ... he was really pissed. *How could I think school was fun? Aibou was right from the beginning. Sure, there ARE some interesting things ... but the other part ... *yawn* talk about boring and not forgetting stupid and useless and ... oh f---*

/Mhh?/ his hikari answered. He seemed just as board as his yami. This gained him a grin from his darkness.
//Can you explain this coordinate system to me ... again?//
Yami could hear his light's chuckle down the link /Sure? What do you need help with?/

/I advice you to learn to control you abilities a bit better/

The spirit couldn't be more thankful when the bell rang. But he has to admit that he never slept that good ... *School is at least good for something*
Suddenly he noticed a shadow on his desk. The spirit looked up, finding piercing blue eyes starring at him.
"Are you Yami Kinski?" the young man with brown hair questioned. *Not the nicest person*
"Well, yes?" Yami answered, sounding almost bored. In the last few days he was used to this behaviour around his person. Why didn't they leave him alone ...
"My name is Seto Kaiba. I heard you are an excellent duellist and I wondered if you'd like to duel me" the tall teen extended is hand to Yami.
Yami took it and replied "Sure. Do you want to duel now?" *He seems nice though* Yami's eyes glistered in excitement. He could never turn down a challenge ...
They made their way to the rooftop, avoiding to draw attention to them. Both didn't like the fangirls, hanging around them.
(I only know the basics of Duel Monsters and most of all, I don't know the English names of the cards. -.- sorry)
Seto was dumbfounded. He was never defeated before. But then this Yami came around and he found a way to destroy his Blue Eyes White Dragon.
Despite the stab in his pride he was amused. He was NEVER defeated before.
"Finally a real opponent" he congratulated Yami. (I like Seto ^^ Gomen he is a little OOC)
"Thanks. But you are excellent yourself. I barely won" Yami complimented Seto.
"Probably you'll give me a revenge sometime?" Seto questioned.
"Sure. Anytime. I'm sorry I have to go now. I'm sure my friends are already looking for me. See ya later" the spirit waved goodbye.

"Yami! There you are! Where were you?" his hyper hikari came running towards him.
*He's really cute. I'm lucky to have him*
"On the rooftop. I duelled a guy, I think Seto Kaiba was his name ... he is an excellent duellist I have to admit ..."
"You duelled who?!?!?! Seto Kaiba!!! He is the ultimate duellist. How could you beat him?" Joey asked disbelieving. Yami shrugged.
"Anyway, would you like to see a movie with us after school? We want to see the last part of The Lord Of The Rings." Yugi asked, using his chibi eyes on Yami.
"Sure. I'd love to."

Yami liked this movie. He couldn't keep his eyes from the screen, afraid of missing something. He imagined himself being there ...
His hikari wasn't that happy about the film. From time to time Yugi hid his face in Yugi's side. He didn't know this film was that brutal. He watched already part one and two. He was used to it 'Or do you just want to have an excuse to cuddle with him?' a voice in his head asked. Yugi blushed.
Darkness and light went alone to the cinema, as Joey and Tristan cancelled. Yami didn't believe their excuses, as they are horrible liars. They were both up to something ...
Again his hikari cuddled into his side. Without thinking the yami pulled him into his lap, playing with Yugi's soft hair. Yugi hugged Yami around the middle, as a flying creature killed many men. He desperately looked for something to turn away his attention from the movie.
Pressed tightly to Yami he noted that his heartbeat and his breathing have a calming effect on him. He pressed his hear against the spirit's chest and concentrated on the darkness. A little bored, Yugi played with Yami's buckles on the shirt. The innocent light barely noticed that he unbuckled 2 of them. Yugi turned beat red when he kept staring on the chest exposed. Trembling he was able to button up, before his yami remarked. But he only was successful with one as Yami suddenly took his hand and pressed it firmly to his chest.
Yami didn't know what his light did. He felt his poor light trembling and did what every good protector would do. He rested his head on Yugi's and hugged him closer, so that Yugi wouldn't have to look at the screen. Unnoticed to him his hikari turned even more red, nearly matching Yami's eyes.
Yami noted that it was nice to have his small aibou in his arms. He fit perfectly in his arms and he smelled really good ... *What I am thinking?* he scolded himself mentally. *Though he IS soft* This time he hit himself for real.
Yugi was glad his yami didn't noticed what he did. 'He would be disgust and leave ... and that would end our 'starting over'.' Again he pressed closer to the warm body, which offered so much comfort. Here he was content and felt protected. If he had to say something about that matter, he would never let go ...

I had problems with this chapter as I wanted to make it a bit fluffy, so you don't have to worry over a few weeks ... But I wasn't very successful.
I wanted to put angst in this chapter ...
I'll hope you won't forget me and that you'll be here again, WHEN (not if) I post the next chapter! I have exciting plans with this story! *jumps up and down*
