Chapter 11: Clouds over Domino
Yugi walked slowly back to his class, using the time to think of a plan to gain his yami's trust. 'It's so frustrating. It had to happen NOW when we were THAT close' he thought angrily. "Ahh" he screamed out loud in anger, catching the attention of other pupils, but he didn't care. The hikari hated Marik and his damn illusion, but most of all he was furious with himself. 'Everything would just be fine, if I had told him my stupid secret. I could have trusted him, but nooooo I behaved like I coward. Marik wouldn't have been able to destroy our bond if we had trusted each other! And which fault is it? Mine'
'But now is not the time to think about it. I have to tell Yami that Marik plans his next attack. I can't lose him now. Not now, not ever' the light admitted to himself.
Yami was sitting at his desk, much to Yugi's relief. He has feared that his darkness already left and he would never have had a chance to speak things through with him. 'If he would speak to me at all'
He took some cautious steps towards his yami, but he dumped against something. Yugi reached out and his hand met something. 'What's that?' he looked confused at his yami, noticing Yami's puzzle glowing. 'What did he do? Creating a wall?' Some of his classmates were going back to their seats in the last row, which meant they had to pass Yami. 'Nothing. They just went through it' realisation hit him hard. 'He created it just for me' he looked at his yami. If the darkness had watched his aibou, he would have noticed the hurt in his eyes, but he not even acknowledged the little hikari.
If the spirit wanted to hurt his aibou, it did the trick. Yugi went back to his desk, but though he was ignored by the darkness, he thought about a new plan to get the yami to talk to him. Yugi wasn't going to give him up so soon.
During class the hikari used the mind link and wrote notes to yami, but everything he tried failed him. Yami was really stubborn, but he couldn't blame him.
Yugi was lost in his thoughts and barely noticed the dark clouds above the city. 'A storm. No big deal' He has no idea how wrong he was ...
Thunder and lightning were disrupting the silence in the classroom. Yugi watched the natural spectacle bored. 'In some way it resembles my mood'
Lightning after lightning were illuminating the sky above Domino and the thunder growled dangerously. Animals were getting nervous and were looking for a hideaway. Animals have a sin for danger; probably they know more about that thunderstorm, coming out of nowhere.
The whole class, even the teacher watched the spectacle with curiosity. A particularly bright thunderbolt forced them to close their eyes. Something exploded in the class and most of them screamed in fear. Did a lightning stroke? Students ran out of the class in panic. The teacher and the rest of the pupils were at a loss what to do and stood frozen on the spot.
Yugi looked behind him, making sure that his friends were okay. His heart was racing and his breath was uneven. Dust prevented him from seeing a thing. The lightning must have stroke directly in his class. 'Please let Joey, Tristan, Seto and Mai be okay. Please let Yami be okay, please let him be okay' he repeated the mantra in his head.
Slowly he could make out the forms of his friends, sighing in relief when they all seemed uninjured. 'And Yami?' Turning his head in Yami's direction he saw the spirit sitting casually on his chair. 'Wait where's his desk?'
Looking around the room he noted some shattered wood on the other side of the room. Yugi's eyes widened in shock, but he hasn't enough time to form a thought as something outside caught his attention. The thunderclouds were forming something. It looked like they were captivated in an eddy, creating an unbelievable strong suction, which swallowed up trees and cars.
The class looked at it in horror, hopefully there weren't some human near it. A cruel laughter pulled them out of their thoughts. The picture of a man with wild sand-blonde hair and lavender eyes appeared on the sky.
"I hope you liked my entrance" Marik's voice thundered through the created night. Yugi's hand covered his mouth in shock. He disbelievingly shook his head. 'Not now'
"My name is Marik. But soon you will know me as your pharaoh" he continued.
"For years I have waited to get what is mine. Now the time has come to call in the power and respect, which is entitled to me. PHARAOH come and show yourself!!! Let's finish what we began five thousand years ago! Or I'll reduce the down to rubble" the dark voice echoed through the city.
"But first ... I'll tell you the story how all began ... five millennia ago"
People were looking out of their houses and offices, partly afraid and partly curious, to see the man who was about to destroy the city.
"Five thousand years ago, there was a powerful pharaoh who ruled over Egypt and the Egyptian lived in piece and wealth. The people and the priest were loyal to their monarch, but dark priests tried to take over the kingdom. They made a pact with the darkness and with the help of the shadow games they wanted to destroy the young pharaoh. The shadow games were similar to the 'Duel Monsters Game' you play nowadays, with the exception that the Ancient Egypt's monsters were real, created with magic. Only people with enough magic were able to summon and control them. I, the leader of the dark priests, challenged the pharaoh to a shadow duel, but I lost! He sealed me away in the Millennium rod, one of the seven holy items, who symbolize the pharaoh's power. But the ritual claimed a second sacrifice. So the pharaoh was sealed away in the most powerful Millennium item, the Millennium puzzle. The priests shattered and hid the puzzle and hoped that nobody will ever be able so solve it, as with the completion of the puzzle the pharaoh will awaken and with him the soul, locked up in the Millennium Rod. But I don't expect that you morons understand this" he finished the secret story.
"Now there is only one thing to do. Come out pharaoh and play a shadow game with me! Let's find out, who is worth to be a pharaoh!"
PLEASE READ AND REVIEW for me takes Yugi and uses him and his puppy-dog eyes WHO CAN'T RESIST THOSE EYES?
The battle against Marik had begun. Who will win? To say the truth I did this story backwards. I planned the end before I wrote the beginning. I'm so excited. I know the first part was crape, but I think the end was good!
A big thank you to all my reviewers. I'm really stuck with all my stories and I need all the support I can get. The 3-week-break wasn't so good after all. I promise to do my best and hope it will work!
