LAST TIME

"Now there is only one thing to do. Come out pharaoh and play a shadow game with me! Let's find out, who is worth to be a pharaoh!"

XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

People all around the city were looking baffled at the image of the person, who introduced himself as Marik. Who was he? Pharaoh? Shadow games? Curiosity won at least and the people slowly woke up from their previous torpor. Murmurs interrupted the silence, which settled over the city and spread like wildfire.

Damn weak personality of them. A few minutes ago they were frightened to death and now they are discussing!!! They should run for their life!!! Yami thought frustrated. The pharaoh always knew that most humans were easy to distract and their curiousness supplant their instinct to stay alive, but this was just ridiculous.

"Come out, pharaoh! Or this city won't stand for long!" the ice-cold voice of Marik hollered through the streets of Domino.

Yami slowly stood up and made his way to the windows of the classroom, unnoticed by his classmates, who were still focused on the spectacle outside. Yami snorted angrily.

"I'm here Marik! What do you want from me?!" the ancient king shouted back, sounding really pissed. Why shouldn't he? Marik threatened his kingdom in the past and now he wanted to destroy the world and worst of all he stole his hikari!!! This thought alone made the spirit physically sick.

All eyes in the room were directed at him, as were Marik's and the rest of the citizen's. Every fibre of their beings told them to run, now that the manic found his rival, but once again they just stood and watched.

"Pharaoh! How nice of you to come!" the dark priest greeted the former king, a smirk forming on his lips. This was the only warning Yami got before a ball of energy was directed at him. The spirit raised almost bored his hand in front of him, creating a glowing shield. The blast hit the outside wall of the school building and it exploded to powder, but otherwise the building surprisingly still stood, apart from the hole in the outside wall.

"You had to take all the fun out of it, hadn't you? You didn't change a bit. You're still the foolish man you were five thousand years ago, always looking out for the well beings of other. This will be your downfall"

"Now do you come out to "play" or do you have to ask for permission first?" Marik questioned mockingly.

The ancient pharaoh didn't even acknowledge this remark as he went to the door, leaving his hikari, his friends and his traumatized classmates, including a teacher, who looked as if he was going to faint any moment, back. Though it didn't took Yugi and the rest of the gang long to follow the dark spirit.

Silence settled over the school ground, where normally voices of students were heard. Most of the students gathered around the field, next to the school, where the dark priest already waited for his "victim" to arrive. The mass made room and watched the king expectant.

No one dared to speak, some even hold their breath, not knowing what to expect from a shadow game. It didn't sound pleasant.

Marik didn't let them down. He snipped his fingers and changed Yami's and his cloths. "I think this will fit this holy occasion more." He gave a reason to their change in appearance.

Marik now wore a lavender tunic and golden ornaments on his legs and arms, the glowing Millennium Rod in his hand, ready to attack.

Once again Marik was visible on the sky, along wit the pharaoh.

"Don't want the world to miss how you are going to be defeated, now won't we?" Marik told the darkness, clearly enjoying this situation. His time has at least come and he'll defeat the Yu-Gi-Oh! and nobody will dare to question his power.

It reminded Yugi on the films he watched in the cinema. 'I just need some popcorn' he thought dryly, but stopped when he took in Yami's clothes.

The pharaoh was clothed in a white tunic, which emphasized the bronze skin and a blue cape gently blew in the wind and underlined the pharaoh's calm aura. A gold necklace laid on his chest, half covered by the cape. Two golden pieces were on the pharaoh's upper arms and another one was on Yami's left shoulder. He wore two more golden jewelleries on his lower legs and has sandals on his feet. The golden earrings and the necklace were matching the millennium puzzle dangling against his strong stomach. In Yami's wild hair was a golden headpiece with the Eye of Horus on it. This and the eyeliner gave the pharaoh an air of power and mysterious allure.

Yugi's mouth with most other girls and boys went dry. Yami looked like a god! Though how he will be able to move with all the heavy gold will be a mystery.

The pharaoh seemed unimpressed by the change in his attire and the drooling of his audience. His whole intention was on Marik, who by the time closed his eyes and concentrated.

"Schwarzer Magier (Black Magician in German), come out!" Yami summoned his most loyal monster. A tall man with a lilac attire appeared next to his master.

"Protect the people and my friends ... and my hikari" the pharaoh commanded, looking sadly at his aibou. His hikari betrayed him and he still felt the need to protect him. Even if Yugi didn't feel the same way about him, Yami wasn't going to break his promise. He would keep the boy save under all circumstances.

The Black Magician considered a moment, but then did as he was told as he placed himself next to Yugi, watching his master like the rest. Though he was bond to the former pharaoh, Schwarzer Magier thought silently to himself that will interfere if the need arise. Even if his master told him not do. He could be as stubborn as the king.

Yami now concentrated himself, closing his eyes to do so. It was thousands of years ago, when he last used shadow powers and the king hoped it will be enough to defeat the dark priest.

At the same time both opponents stretched out their right hand to the side, forming a sword out of black fog. Yami opened his eyes, moving his hand to accustom to the weapon.

Marik sprung forward and attacked the pharaoh with his own sword. Lightning and thunder illuminate the darkness as the two men fight, one for death and power and the other for life and love.

I'm so frustrated with this story. It won't turn out the way I want it!!! I have hugh problems with the battle scene, but I'll give my best! I think I'll rewrite this story, but AFTER I finished it. Don't want to keep you waiting! o

I'm hungry give me some food! NO SCRATCH THAT GIVE ME REVIEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yami Tangela, pharaohs: You're really welcome. Hope you enjoy this chapter too!

Dagger Maxwell: gg Don't hurt Yami too much or he can't make up with Yugi

MariksGurl666: You made me soooo happy with your review. It's good for my ego to know people like my stories. Besides, you're evil. I mean it's not fair to use puppy eyes on an authoress!

SoulDreamer: Yes, I'll continue for sure. Thank you!

jkateel: Kurai is like your yami then? Thanks for the review. I'm looking forward to your next update! I'm reading "Trance" at the moment. I'll review as soon as I finished it!

hAdOwCat: Yami's hot, ne? sighs dreamily Sad enough he is already with Yugi. Well, in my story at least!

Molly-chan the Anime/Game fan: Very funny review. I soooo enjoy to read them! Yugi and Yami have a strange relationship, ne? I just pointed out that they were head over heels at the beginning, but that was just the first meeting and they don't know a thing about the other. They felt comfortable around each other, but trust and a more intimate relationship needs more time. And they just started to open up and so Marik was able to destroy their bond. I hope it makes sense to you!

Cherazz22784: That means I did my job well, if you could feel the thick air! Thanks for reviewing!
