LAST TIME

No one of them believed in ghosts, but who knew what wandered around in these halls. Suddenly Ishizu screamed in panic.

Joey joined Ishizu and matched his scream to her volume, causing shivers to run up and down their companions' skin from the shrill sound. Immediately the group of friends, or rather companions, realised how careless they had been. They should have known better than to think that they could walk in a pharaoh's tomb without stepping in traps and other impediments. Eventually, the blonde haired boy stopped in realisation and because of his dry throat. He didn't even know why he was screaming. Sweatdropping Joey looked questioningly at the Egyptian woman, who pointed with a trembling hand at a moving shadow. The group froze as rattling and hissing was heard.

Seto, who was still in possession of their only light source, directed the flashlight at the form and grimaced in disgust. Snakes. Ugly and long greasy snakes. There were countless of them spread over the stone floor. Slowly, the reptiles encircled the group of companions. Most probably the animals felt threatened by their arrival and decided to defence themselves. Quickly, but very carefully the group retreated, alarming the venomous animals in the act. They hissed and moved their upper bodies up in attack position. Though they didn't assault immediately and waited for the next wrong move of the human intruders.

"I prefer them as handbags" Mai murmured dryly. To tell the truth she would rather face any other danger, like the Dark Magician, than those beasts.

As soon as they distanced themselves successfully from the aggressive reptiles, they sprinted as fast as their feet could carry them and ran promptly in someone, namely a Duel Monster. The cute girl offered Yugi a hand, who fell down with the impact.

Seto mustered the girl faithlessly. First of all, Duel Monsters weren't real and second where the Dark Magician Girl was, the Dark Magician wasn't far behind. Where one was, there were others. But as he didn't believe in the whole magic thing and in is opinion both things didn't exist they were save.

The DMG [Dark Magician Girl] smiled joyfully at the little hikari, "I'm glad I found you Yugi-sama. Schwarzer Magier [Dark Magician's name, remember?] is very mean and won't let me seek help for pharaoh-sama. Please Yugi-sama, you have to come with me and help Yami-sama."

Without waiting for a reply, the pretty girl dragged Yugi with her, not that the hikari would have complained. After all, they were there to find Yami and if this girl brought them to him it was even better.

"But how do you know that Yugi is Yami's hikari?" Tristan asked the girl sceptically.

"Dark Magician-sama told me what happened and" pointing at Yami's aibou "Yugi-sama here looks like pharaoh-sama." Schwarzes Magier Mädchen [German for DMG's name] replied cutely.

Soon they came to a corridor that was more magnificent than all the others [Remember that I all make this up!]. The walls were decorated with gold and ornaments.

The DMG went straight to the door at the end of the path, still dragging Yugi along. The others followed closely. The pretty Duel Monster reached for the doorknob when a tanned hand held her by the wrist. She looked up, seeing angry blue eyes glaring at her. Flinching, she realised that she was in deep trouble.

"Dark Magician-sama, I found pharaoh-sama's hikari. I thought he could probably help us ..." the DMG spoke, before the DM began shouting.

"You should know better than disregard an order from me, Dark Magician Girl. I told you that it was your task to stop them before they could find our master. Don't try to fool me! I saw how you put the traps out of action and that you even helped them with the snakes. I will punish you hard for this, Schwarzes Magier Mädchen." With that said he raised his road, pointing at the defenceless girl. She knew that an attack against her master would be useless as his attack power was much higher than hers. Even in defence mode she couldn't survive a powerful blast.

To everyone's surprise Yugi stepped in front of her, stretching his hands to the side to protect the young girl.

Unforeseeably, the Dark Magician broke off his attack and instead glared at the little shrimp in his way. He would love to send the little pain in the neck to the Shadow Realm, but his master would be displeased. Beside that, he didn't know the effect of the hikari's death on his pharaoh.

"Step out of the way or I'm going to punish you too,"the DM commanded angrily. First of all his master was hurt and then he found out that the DMG wasn't trustworthy and at least there stood a stubborn light in his way.

"No way I'm leaving her. She is Yami's friend and I won't allow you to harm her in any way" Yugi stated with a firm voice.

Malik and Ishizu got ready to interfere. They know about Schwarzer Magier's loyalty to his master and they feared that he would go even as far as to kill their little friend to protect his master.

"Wo wo, guys. Calm down. We aren't enemies, are we?" Mai tried to mediate before anyone got hurt. And if she looked at the Dark Magician trembling with fury, she bet that they would be hurt and not Schwarzer Magier.

"Besides" she contacted the DM with a knowing glance in her eyes "I'm sure that your master would be furious with you if you had hurt his light or his friends." The tough woman smirked as she saw the realisation on his face. She found his weak-point and Mai knew how to use that to her advantage.

Unfortunately, Joey and Tristan decided to play 'hero' at this point. As if Mai had foreseen that problem, she punched them into their stomachs', leaving them breathless, before anyone of them could cause any trouble.

Suddenly the DMG attached herself to the DM's arm and smiled sweetly at him. "You know Schwarzer Magier-kun, they could help us with Yami. You have to admit that regardless of what we tried we couldn't heal Yami-sama. Not even the Mystical Elf was helpful. It wouldn't hurt to let them try, would it?" She batted her eyelashes at him.

The eyes of the others were huge by the time. Only minutes ago this dangerous monster tried to kill her and now she was all flirty around him. They were even more dumbfounded when the DM's cheeks turned pink.

Despite the cuteness of the situation, Yugi urged the two Duel Monsters to lead him to his darkness. Nodding embarrassed, the Dark Magician opened the door to his master's room, nearly trampled by a little light and his friends.

The DMG on the other hand found that they deserved to be a little alone and so she dragged the DM away, like she did to our cute little Yugi. [O.o what I am writing?] Yugi's thought process slipped in nothingness as he saw his darkness.

Special thanks to TsukiYami for reviewing 3 times! I'm really happy that my fic belongs to your favourite YAOI fics!!

IMPORTANT NOTE: I want to thank all my readers and reviewers. You always tell me to update with chibi eyes, puppy eyes, threats to hunt me down and lovely review, making me feel guilty for not updating. –laugh- Don't get me wrong, I love them. Some of you probably know that I'm working on 4 fics at the moment and I can't update as much as I would like. I'm going to do a circle. That means that I first will update 'The power of a wish' then 'Darkness consumes the light' and 'Behind the mask'. 'He is spoilt for choice' will be updated once I finished one or two of the others, but I try to post a chapter once in a while.

And for everyone who wanted a sequel to 'One of a kind' ... you won. I'm going to continue this story though I don't really get why you like it so much. That will stay a mystery for me. However 'One of a kind' will be rewritten. But don't think of seeing its sequel anytime soon as my other fics have priority for now. THANKS TO EVERYONE!!!
