Eoin was a nice kid, at the lowly age of 15. He lived in New Bark Town, Johto. He had just gotten a wonderful Charmander from Professer Elm, and had high hopes leaving the small town. Until...

CRACK!!

"AHHHHH!" A high- pitched scream issued from near the large Evergreen trees that bordered the town. A scream the sounded oddly like Eoin's mother's...

BANG!! SNAPCREEEEEAAAK!!!

The ear-splitting wood-on-metal noise came from the falling tree as it landed on a house. Eoin's house.

Two days later, they buried Eoin's mother with a beautiful ceremony, people came from even Kanto to say their debts to the fallen woman. Her cookies had been delicious... Anyway, Eoin had no home, the tree had taken care of that, as well as taken his mother's life, as you, the reader, may have noticed. He had no family. As he wiped away the tears that were silently streaming down his face, a girl came up to him. A very pretty girl... Eoin quickly wiped his flowing eyes and looked at the girl. She looked his age, with long chest-length hair, and a baseball cap. Oh, and the eyes... So deep, brown eyes... Lastly, she had a belt with a poke ball on it.

"Are you the son of the woman who passed away?", she asked.

"Yeah, the name's Eoin. What's yours?", he answered.

"Ani. I come from Pallet Town, and I heard about you from there..."

"What? From who?" No one could have possibly heard of him that far away...

"Professer Oak. He says you have great potential, like he said to me. He says that I'm-" Ani couldn't finish her sentence, but that fits, because neither Eoin or Ani were listening. Shadow had fallen over the tiny graveyard, and both Ani's and Eoin's head snapped up to look at the sun. A huge, dragon shaped creature, easily larger than New Bark Town itself, was blocking the sun. As it's great wings flapped, making it hover, it's great head sweeped down on them. It's head looked much larger than it should from that distance, it seemed almost a mirage. Its maniac red eyes glittered as it swept the grievers of the funeral. Obviously, it didn't find what it was looking for, as it zipped away, much to fast for it's size. Both Eoin's and Ani's eyes were as big as melons, looking at each other.
