The Demons Claw
Chapter One
Kitsuere sat lazily at the top of the tree swinging one of her legs over the branch. The setting sun caught the light off a shard of The Shikon No Tama that she had recently acquired. Her red hair moved lightly with the breeze. Her black ears twitched at the slightest noise and her black tail moved leisurely. She looked at the shard and smiled, tucking it away in the front of her shirt. She sniffed at the air and became tense at once. She smelled humans, she wasn't near a village it didn't make any sense. Sniffing again, she smelled a slight hint of half demon blood. She looked down to see a group of travelers. There were three humans, a small fox demon, and what she assumed was the half demon she smelled.
"I sense a Shikon shard." Said one of the human girls.
"Your sure Kagome?" Asked the half –demon she recognized as InuYasha. Kitsuere had known his older brother Sesshomaru when they were both younger. The girl nodded in reply. Deciding to inspect the group she dropped out of the tree and onto the path in front of them. All of them jumped back a bit before the girl called Kagome spoke.
"She has the Shikon shard, InuYasha"
"Where?"
"In her chest!"
InuYasha unsheathed his sword and moved swiftly toward Kitsuere. At the last minute she moved away, pulling out her own sword.
"Tisk, tisk little InuYasha don't bother if you want the shard I'll give it to you. No killing involved."
"What?" InuYasha stared at her in disbelief .He was accustomed to fighting for his jewel shards.
"Here," she said pulling out the shard InuYasha reached for it but she pulled it away "Not that easy. Let me travel with you, your group is searching for Naraku, no?"
"What dose that have to do with anything?"
"Naraku killed most of my clan, just for fun I'm out for revenge I wish to she his blood spilled before my feet." she growled compulsively
"Let her come, we could always use another demon in battle."
"Fine Kagome, She can stay"
"Good. " she said putting her sword back "Here you go Kagome" and handed her the shard.
"Seriously, your giving this to me?"
"Yes, as long as your end of the bargain is held up. If its not will have take it back, by force" Then the monk spoke up
"We need to get moving; we need a place to stay for the night"
"There is a village up the road " said Kitsuere pointing in the direction that the group had originally been going
"Lets go,tonight's the full moon" said InuYasha walking in the direction that Kitsuere had pointed out. And the rest of the group followed.
