Girl With the Lilies in her Hair
By Kalliel Inuyaksa :: Banana Rum
Who is that girl? The one with the flowers in her hair.
I am me. That's all.
Dressed all in white, sitting by herself. Does she have a voice?
I have a voice. All my knowledge is things I don't care to tell you.
Among this stirring tempest of miasmic venom, she's unmoving. What's her secret?
My secret? My enigma of harbored thoughts.
She looks at me. Her eyes show me only naivete.
I know more than you ever will. I don't need to prove it.
She's so little. There's no challenge.
I can kill you. Rip your soul from that pathetic construct of flesh.
Who is she? She wasn't here before.
I have no past or present. All I can do is wait for my future.
Almost invisibleÉlike she could melt away with my breath.
I sit here and watch you stare. Are you watching me?
Why am I drawn to you? There's too much you don't possess.
I can possess the world if I want to. But why would I want another crushing burden to shoulder?
There's a shadow hanging over you; writhing in eel-like coils of power. It's not me, though.
Eyes unseeingÉI can't imagine who you are.
What are you thinking about? When you look up from that mirror, you gaze with lust at an intangible dream.
I want you. I want to feel your warmth on my translucent frigidity.
With that mirror, has it made you vain? Clouding your features with a cloud of discontent?
I see nothing; my own soul, sleeping somewhere. There's nothing that could disturb me so that it wakes.
I've sat here for eternity, content to gaze upon you. We are ageless, never to be weathered by the gales of time.
ÔWe'? Who are you?
I can hear your voice for the first time. The sounds of kami, the trickling of water, the crackling of autumn leaves.
Do you think you know me? Do you think you have seen into my eyes and heard the echoes of my vacant heart?
Yes. You look up and see me as if for the first time.
Were you there before? Your presence now threatens to overcome me.
We are as one. You cannot harm me, nor I you.
ÔWe' again. There is no Ôwe'!
Confrontation. Do you fear me?
There is nothing here to fear. Nothing that could break me.
I glide toward you. Don't back awayÉ
You caress me with your potency. You are different then I expected.
I place a sisterly kiss upon your forehead. One a friend would give to another.
Very bold. Had you been anyone else you would be dead.
Have you found out my identity? So delicately concealed from only you.
You feel like no stranger. We all have our deceiving auras, though.
I kiss you again. This time a hard forceful impact.
I taste your blood in my mouth; your hot breath in my frozen rift of memories.
Dear Kanna, my light, you are dead now. Embrace me.
My darkness, my shadow
Come with me.
