He sat alone in his house with only one thing on his mind, loneliness,

He wanted the whole thing to be over, to resolve the problem with apologies,

He didn't know why she left him, there were just no consistencies,

He wanted Susanna back, he wanted Jennifer back, he wanted happiness.

He loved his job, he worked hard at it, and it was his fidelity to it that didn't want a case to go unsolved,

But that fidelity cost him his family, and left his heart with two large vacancies,

He wanted to see and hold his daughter again, to tell her he loved her, to make apologies,

But Susanna had already threatened him and would never let him see her again, and he hoped she would be loved.

All he wanted was for this to be a nightmare, a long and horrible nightmare,

He denied it, but he knew it was real and that this overwhelming loneliness was like an infection,

The loneliness was cold and icy, but nothing compared to the longing for love and compassion,

But the worst feeling was rejection, and wondering if anyone would ever love him, or ever care.
