Ch 2 Blood Letters

The beatings continued every time Vernon became drunk. Every time he threw the empty bottle at Harry, it became increasingly harder to dodge them. One day Harry gave up and just let the bottle hit him. The bottle scored numerous cuts all over his body. His uncle wasn't satisfied. He picked up some glass and attached it to the belt. He then commenced beating him. Harry eventually passed out from blood loss. Harry felt as if every one of his bones were broken. As the days progressed, and the beatings continued, Harry began to wish that he could make it all end. Two things stopped him from doing this himself: 1.He believed he deserved to suffer 2. The prophecy wouldn't let him die at the hands of anyone but Voldemort

Every three days as a promise Harry wrote the order. He would always say the Dursleys were treating him well. He used his robes to keep the blood off the parchment. One day, Harry was writing his usual letter to the order. He had just tied it on to Hedwig's leg when Vernon came in and threw another bottle at him. Blood splattered on the letter as Hedwig flew out to deliver it.

Grimmauld Place

Remus Lupin, Alastor Moody, and Arthur Weasley were sitting in the Weasley's kitchen having tea when Hedwig flew in. Everyone immediately noticed the blood.

Remus ran over to the fire and called Albus Dumbledore. "Professor we just received a letter from Harry and it is covered in blood," Remus told the headmaster.

"Now don't jump to conclusions, calm down, and go to check up on him. Bring Arthur and Tonks with you. I believe Alastor is on duty anyway, so he will already be there," the headmaster replied.

"Okay, thank you Albus," Remus said. He ran back into the kitchen and told Arthur what was going on (Mad-Eye had already left) They called Tonks and all three apparated to Privet Drive. Remus ran up to the door of Number Four. He took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
