for them of vampire blood
creatures they are, deprived of hearts
where love is dead, and death is born
and that sets them apart.

But in their minds they wish to fade
away, like a summer dream
and join the souls in the stars
where cities of the nights are dreamed
and they sorely may come to love.

The pain of leading half a life
for those of half the blood
may lead them to insanity
and can only dream of being free
for their hearts are torn in half
