Okay, folks, I'm sorry that this story hasn't been updated, and it may not be for a while yet. Don't worry, I will be back!
I have a correction to make. Sozo's friend did NOT receive 200 yen, he would have received a lesser amount. I was looking at Rurouni Kenshin volume 7, which mentions Okubo Toshimichi's death. Judging by the comparison of yen to dollars, it would seem that the yen may have had greater value then. Please forgive this mistake on my part.
This story is progressing slowly, I know. I'm very sorry. I am under a lot of stress, as I warned, and I am suffering from writer's block, having just recently had time to think of a plot for the second chapter.
To lay your fears to rest, I will let you know that Sozo will NOT have a romantic interest in these stories. I find that romantic interests created by authors are a bit distracting from the main plot of a story. (Or they ARE the main plot, which gets on my nerves.)

If all goes well, things should start to pick up after the election. I've been spending more time than usual watching the news (and that's saying something, one look at my pen name tells you that), but we're in the home stretch, so I may have more time on my hands.
