Note: This is yet another set of arches I wrote, with occasional input from other writers. This time I was writing for my character Kharál Tesehan at - she still hasn't been raised, but we are working on it! The first chapter is by Seyeiyn Sedai, one of the members of PoP at the time.
Attn Kharál: Summoned… by Seyeiyn Sheyeen Mistress of Novices Sun Feb 9 2003 1:18:01 pm
Seyaiyn Sedai smiled as she made her way to the novice quarters. She wore a white dress with green embroidery, even though she was of the Grey Ajah. Sometimes, change was necessary. Her grey shawl was made of silk and shimmered almost like silver, as it sat on her shoulders. She knew that by the end of the day, another Accepted would enter their midst, which pleased her more than anything.Stopping by one of the doors, she knocked and after a few seconds it opened. Novice Kharál stood there, her eyes widened in surprise and then confusion as she realized who stood in front of her; then she curtsied deeply.
"Please follow me, Kharál," said Seyaiyn Sedai, using the woman's name. She felt it was best to keep the girl's spirit up, since she would definitely hurt by the end of the day.
They walked for some time, going downwards the whole way, until the MoN stopped by a door deep in the basement of the White Tower. Opening it, she walked in and Kharál followed.
They stood in a circular room, with a huge ter'angreal in the middle, shaped as three arches, joined at the sides. Seyaiyn frowned, for even she had terrible memories of her own arches. As she approached with Kharál, the woman's eyes suddenly filled with understanding and fright.
Seyaiyn turned to Kharál, "Now I will tell you two things no woman hears before she stands where you do. Once you begin, you must go on to the end. Refuse at any point, and you will be put out of the Tower just as if you had refused to begin for the third time. Second; to seek, to strive, is to know danger. Some women have entered, and never come out. When the ter'angreal was allowed to grow quiet, they…were…not…there, and they were never seen again. If you would survive, you must be steadfast. Falter, fail, and…" she let the threat hang. "This is your last chance. Refuse now, and it only counts as the first. You may still try twice more. If you accept now, there is no turning back. It is no shame to refuse. Even some of the best Aes Sedai could not do it their first time. Choose."
Kharál nodded her head almost eagerly, and yet you could see the way she trembled.
Seyaiyn smiled, knowing this would be the girl's answer. She then nodded towards Maiwen Sedai of the Green Ajah, who began the ceremony:
"Whom do you bring with you, Sister?"
"One who comes as a candidate for Acceptance, Sister," replied Seyaiyn.
"Is she ready?"
"She is ready to leave behind what she was, and, passing through her fears, gain Acceptance."
"Does she know her fears?"
"She has never faced them, but now is willing."
"Then let her face what she fears."
Kharál eyed the first arched nervously.
"The first time is for what was," Seyaiyn intoned. "The way back will come but once. Be steadfast."
OOC: Okay…lol! It would be best if you replied to this from your point of view and then posted the first arch, get me? Lol!
Good Luck!
