-A Perfect Picture-
"So this is how it ends, Sasuke."
I glance up, blood trickling from both my nose and mouth. "Death isn't the end, dobe."
Naruto walks slowly toward me, his face a mask of cold fury. "You stupid bastard...you really belive in that 'life after death' crap?" He grins, though it's more of a pained grimace.
He reaches me, and he crouches down to my broken form that leans against one of the many trees in the Forest of Death. "Before I kill you," he murmurs, "Let me ask you something." I wait expectantly. "Why'd you do it? Why'd you kill her?"
I don't answer right away, mulling over my answer. Just when he begins to raise the fist that holds the Rasengan, I give him my answer: "I...don't know."
He cancels the Rasengan and looks at me. The pain and betrayal in his cerulean eyes is almost unbearable. "You...you honestly don't know why?" The betrayal is replaced with hatred, but the pained look still lingers. "You bastard!"
I smile softly. "She showed me the picture of us."
Naruto pauses in his tirade. "N-nani?"
I smile wider. "She showed me the picture our team took as genins and told me to remember who I was...who we were..." I break off to hack up what felt like a lung. "I couldn't do it."
"Couldn't do what?" Naruto asks, genuinely curious now.
"Couldn't remember...so I killed her."
Naruto's blue eyes widen, and he looks away. "Gomen, Sasuke." He turns back to face me; tears course down his cheeks. "Omae o korosu."
He summons the Rasengan once more and plunges it into my body.
Blood flies everywhere.

"Sasuke-kun! Onegai, yamette!" Sakura cowered against the tree, pleading with her former teammate.
The young man in question just stared at her with dead eyes. "Doshite?"
Sakura's eyes bulged in disbelief. "Don't...don't you remember...?"
"Remember what?"
"You're kidding me..." she muttered, shaking her head. "You do know who I am, don't you, Sasuke-kun?"
He remained silent for a moment. "...no."
Sakura let out a sob; she knew then that she would die. In a last ditch effort to delay the inevitable, she yanked something out of her pocket. "Sasuke-kun...please, try to remember!"
Sasuke stared at the photo. It showed himself, the whimpering girl in front of him, a scowling blonde, and a man with a mask and grey hair. He looked back at the girl. "So?"
"Please, Sasuke-kun! Remember who you were, who we were!" Sakura begged, on the verge of hysteria.
"Whatever. Die." Sakura braced herself for her death. Hopefully, it would be quick and painless.
"Chidori." Sasuke whispered. He ran her straight through.
Sakura's eyes dulled as she let out her last breath. "Sasuke..."
Then, suddenly, he remembered. That girl was Haruno Sakura, his former teammate. The blonde was Uzumaki Naruto, and the grey-haired man was Hatake Kakashi.
He remembered everything, but it was too late.
She was already dead.
